Very few Organizations stand to provide to such environment. Most of the organizations showcase as one of the attractive point. But they never create such atmosphere.

I believe that students do change after entering the corporate world. If they dont change then they just cant fit into the corporate world. They need to carry an attitude that makes them employable by the employer.

I would rather say its enthusiasm while recruiting which is very important. When you recruit in a proper and happy way you will select the right candidate, which may not lead you to the lay off level.

This depends on the project requirement..both are better in current market...peoples who are familier with SQL they always prefer SQL server. and oracle professionals are always with ORACLE DB.
