Brief summary :
After 4nhalf years of at the academy/institute it was exciting to actually work on the machinery and equipment.I had heard so much off.Becoming part of the team on board was a thrilling experience.During my first traineeship I sailed on the Maersk Mercator,Container vessel.I think that we can learn a lot from working in a multi-cultural environment. As long as we respect each others’ beliefs and customs and show a healthy interest in each other it is a win-win situation. So,In my opinion a seafarers training and dedication determine his abilities as a seafarer, not his nationality.Offcourse,Being away from home for three to six months at a time will always be difficult.Fortunately you can spend your entire shore leave with family and friends to make up for this. Currently,i m pursuing maritime port mgt course from World Maritime University(Malmo,Sweden)....So i ve joined Shipping onshore job for Maersk Line/Safmarine. | ||

For me,Job satisfaction does matter...Even during sailing,I never really cared for money but still job satisfaction,I rather be happy and poor than unhappy with money.:) |
Yes!But,A career according to me should be decided not just for the sake of money earned, but the amount of satisfaction returned.I would take job satisfaction over money anytime. |
I believe,Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude... "What we think determines what happens to us,so if we want to change our lives,we need to stretch our minds..." |
