As I articulate this, I am trying to remember my History class in school. Generations of Indians- people who sat in History classes before and after me- had one thing common drummed into their Psyche, individual or collective. EIC came and enslaved us...

It is a wonderful feeling that, at last, an Indian owns a company that was belonging to the Queen of England. It is an historical achievement. As an Indian, I am feeling so proud. These days when I hear the triumphant and jubiliant wins won by...

Prassan good point I agree with you. Why should we act as if we are poor. That is a disrespect for us. This shows the poor control of the Australian government and security system. It is the governments responsibilities to protect the Indians.
avaneendra mudigonda  |  Argues in support of  |  2 years ago
Prima facie the Australian Police advisory may seem laughable, especially understood from an Indian context . Given the fact that Indian Police starts from a presumption that Poor commit more crime and the finger should point at them always to start...

Why should we act like poor people? This is disgraceful and I think its a little bit racial in some respect.  It's totally false and misleading comment on the behalf of Australian govt. Most Indian don't carry fancy gadgets (ipods, etc) compare...

Indian students living in Australia have slammed Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Simon Overland’s advice that they should not work as taxi drivers and should “look as poor as you can” to avoid being assaulted. Indians  have every right to be...

Sir Mr. Rao, Thank you for the nutritional facts, seriously I want aware of them. But with all due respect to you, I strongly believe that your stance on the fact that diabetes can be reduced due to eating less sugar is completely on the wrong...

No, duration of the course of a rural doctor should not be decreased. A better option is that they should be allowed to attend clinics under the guidance of a Graduate / Postgraduate after 3 years. This can help them to learn both clinical and...

Its true, It is the system made for BPL (Below poverty Line) by  BPL (Bin Pendi ka Lota)
avaneendra mudigonda  |  Argues in support of  |  2 years ago
I dont think scrapping PDS is even an idea that can be  remotely contemplated. Especially when it is pegged to the Concept of Poverty line. Right from 70's in the face of food shortages- due to a regime of inefficient distribution- in a mixed economy...
M. Prabhakar Rao  |  Argues in support of  "No"  |  2 years ago
No, it should not be scrapped.  Even in the most developed economies many subsidies exist like farm subsidies in the US Western Europe, etc. In India PDS is meant to protect BPL people from the vagaries of the open-market price mechanism, it...

The main criteria for Promotion is Peformance. Experience does count for decision making skills, but as far as the working level is concerned, Performance plays a major role. Upto Middle level of Management, Performance has to be the main criteria...
avaneendra mudigonda  |  Argues in support of  |  2 years ago
I am on this side of the debate just to illustrate a point. In my humble opinion, the dualism of Performance Vs experience is outdated. If one posits both the categories as strict opposites  for a starting point, you end up with these logical outcomes...

There can be demoralisation in the team if you allow a manager to get promoted before his or her time. Because he or she may not be mature enough to deal with human issues. We have to make sure right decisions are taken. For this, experience...
