In 1996 was deputed as Network Administrator at Corporate Office. In Oct 2001 was transferred to Corporate Salaries Department as Head of the Dept. (Oct 2001 and Jan 2007), gained exposure in various HR and Payroll Processes and was responsible for the following: Hire to retire: Facilitated employee joining formalities, prepared Compensation reports, implemented Annual Compensation Reviews, Salary Fitments and Offers and handled Retirement Benefits, Full and Final Settlements due to termination of Employment. Payroll: Managed and supervised the Monthly Payroll Processing activity, provided inputs to Payroll, ensured Timely Payments and maintained Payroll System and Income Tax Calculation System. Internal Control Process: Implemented Internal Control Mechanisms for Payroll System and developed requisite Functional Specifications ensuring Quality Delivery of agreed service. Statutory Compliance: Ensured proper accounting of all salary related payments and maintained statutory compliances. Help desk facility for Tax Planning: Assisted in the Personal Taxation and Tax Planning for the employees through help desk facility for resolving Tax related matters and individual issues. MIS Preparation: Prepared effective MIS on payroll and payments made. Ensured controlled distribution of these reports to the top management. IT enabled processes: Provided complete IT based solution to automate most the Processes using Microsoft products. The solution was integrated with Corporate Finance system to account for salary JVs. Development of HRIS : Was Core team member of the team formed for development of Web enabled Human Resources Information System, was involved in all modules viz. Employee Master, Leave Management, Separation/Exit Module, Expenses Reimbursement, Standardization of Reports and Payroll. Retirement Funds Management: Managed the Statutory Funds (Self Managed) viz. Recognised Gratuity Fund/ Superannuation Fund/Provident Fund. Total Fund managed per year for these funds was around Rs.10 Crores. Achievements: Automation of Payroll and HR Processes: Payroll, HR and Statutory Compliance: Designed, developed and implemented parameter driven system using Microsoft Products to automate HR and Payroll Processes including Income Tax Calculations. System was capable to generate all the statutory / MIS reports and integration with corporate finance system. System is eReturn enabled and covered the population of 2500 employees and made live on Apr 1996. Each year the Form 16 were issued to all employees on 1st April i.e. 1st day of the next financial year. Employee Loan Processes: Sub system on employee loans developed and implemented to automate the process. This involves printing of Agreement, Loan Disbursal Memos, Loan Disbursement and Balance Finalization etc. Retirement Funds: Automated the processes of settlement of dues, printing of Annual Statement of Balances. Deployment of other IT services: Deputed as Network Administrator at Corporate Office of Crompton Greaves Ltd during 1996 - 2001 Instrumental in the successful installation of WIN-NT server installation (1996-2001) and ensured complete related administration for the entire Corporate Network. Significantly installed MS Exchange and imparted related training to the user community. Successfully devised and implemented Backup and Disaster Recovery Policy for the entire Corporate Network. Effectively enabled web based upgrades of the existing system, evaluated external consulting (vendors) and interacted with them ensuring successful implementation of the project within specified Time and Budget.
