1. I was working till Jan 2011, with M/s UHDE India ltd, an Indian subsidiary of UHDE Germany and providing consultancy/commissioning services for commissioning of their Memb. Tech. Chlor-Alkali plants all over India. I have successfully commissioned six plants in last 5 yrs with the above co. 2. Worked in Durgapur Chemicals Ltd; Durgapur, as Manager Production/acting GM since 31stAug 2001 to 31STAug.2003; Reporting to M.D. Handled production of pentachlorophenol, monochlorobenzene and dichlorobenzene apart from chlor-alkali products. 3. Worked in Punjab Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd. for 6 years as Manager Production since Dec 1995. I was on HRD committee in the organization at the inception, to formulate the strategy for training of employees. 4. Prior to this worked in Century Rayon at Kalyan for 30 years as under : First 9 years in Analytical Lab gaining analytical experience and approach. Next 15 years in Viscose plant, producing 400 TPD viscose. This is a high viscosity substance made from cellulose involving multi stage processes, used for spinning Rayon yarn. Worked on batch and continuous process. Last 6 years in their Chlor-alkali plant, both on Mercury and Membrane cells I was sent to Malaysiya and Singapore in 1992 to take on the plant training of latest Membrane Cell technology by DeNora Italy. Similar plant was commissioned by us in Dec 1992, in Century Rayon. Special Mention: Taken TQM training in Century Rayon and worked for ISO 9002 certification in Punjab Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd. I am also a certified internal auditor for ISO 9000 auditing. I was MR for ISO 9002 system in Durgapur Chemicals ltd. ACHIEVEMENTS: In Durgapur Chemicals Ltd: Gave the concept of Preventive Maint and Zero breakdowns. Gave good habits for Mercury management and pollution control. Reduced water consumption to the extent of 50% In Punjab Alkalies Identified the real problem of polish filters in PACL, and avoided replacement of filter A and the quality of brine improved thereafter. Improved quality of DM water in terms conductivity and silica content. Stopped decomposition of Sodium Hypochlorite batches, thus increasing revenue for the organization and reducing pollution problem. Modified design of air nozzles of precipitation tanks, which were facing frequent overflow problem and subsequent shutdowns. Reduced downtime by facilitating and giving online methods of working to reduce downtime, shutdown time etc. Saved costly chelating Resin from going to waste by giving better facility for operation and recovery. Maximum utilization of Hydrogen was started in Boiler by integrating the system of both plants, saving tremendous amount of furnace oil (to the tune of Rs.1crore/year). In Century Rayon: Suggested how to tackle breakdowns fast and effectively. Improved efficiency of Chlorine, Caustic and Hydrogen production by 0.5% each saving the amount of Rs.15,00,000/- per year, by reducing % Hydrogen content in cell gas, by better filter management. Started using alkaline effluent water in process, reducing cost of brine purification by Rs.4,20,000/- per year. Reduced consumption of Sodium Sulphide in Brine, which is poison for forming Mercury Sulphide. This compound goes into solid waste causing pollution problem and mercury loss. Reduced downtime of Anode replacement by Rs.4,50,000/- per year.
