Lay-offs happen only when you don't have business. In Kolkata I am seeing many big companies shutting their doors. The reason is poor business. I don't know the scenerio of the other states of India, but this is happening in our state.

Analysts have indicated that there is recession building up. Haven't heard of any recession related layoffs in the middleast region this year.

To cut costs and decrease expenditure across several companies they may lay off some top executives which is very hard to exceaptable.

Hello Friends, Sharing with you an interesting blog posted on TalentEquity.in/blog Well, to be a good listener does not mean that you provide your shoulder for all to share, chatter, cry anytime without giving them attention. It means that you have to listen what other person is saying with full of your interest and undivided attention. Like if you are extremely busy in your work and someone comes to you to speak then either stop what you are doing and give them your full attention or ask them to come back later because you can’t be interrupted now. In order to be a good listener You have to make the speaker know that you are listening. Following points can be noted to be a good listener: ...

There are certain conversations/behaviours that do not belong to the workplace. What are they? Sharing a blog posted on TalentEquity.in/blog To get promotion, increments and recognition at workplace, you need to project the right image of yours. The wise, mature, reliable, sophisticated, trustworthy, experienced, problem solver etc. Remember, a careless word or any vulnerable moment can spoil your hard work and image at work. People who do not speak sense or relevant things or say too much, about themselves or others, can be seen as incompetent, unproductive and unworthy of professional development. A nice article on Corporate manners ....just wanted to share this with all of the users on the platform.... Sabira merchant is a busy woman. More than she would like to be. India’s first corporate trainer, Merchant has barely a free day left on her calendar. She’s not a hotshot CEO but she can teach CEOs a thing or two about conducting their business. With India Inc realising the importance of corporate etiquettes in an increasingly global competitive environment, guru of graces like Merchant are in big demand. Merchant, who’s claim to fame is teaching social graces and accent training to the Miss Indias, is fast finding corporate training workshops as her mainstay. “We have just woken u...

Hello, Sharing a new blog posted on TalentEquity.in/blog Kindly share your views on this. I did not feel comfortable for many days, when I joined the operations team for a BPO. The timings were different (mostly late evenings/ nights), they had the access card policy so couldn’t arrive late or leave early. They were strict in terms of leave policy, deadlines and even the break timings and casual when it cames to office attire. I always ended up comparing with my previous company, where I would be formally dressed five days a week and much for comfortable work timings and environment. However I still liked the work at the BPO and the way they did their work. They had good clarity of roles an...

Hi, Sharing with you an interesting blog posted on TalentEquity.in Keep sharing your experience. 'Abhishek is always ready to share new stories about his boss and how they don’t get along well. He claims that he is not able to focus on his work because his boss is not cooperative at all and does not add value to his work. He feels, all this is making him unproductive at work. It is a fact that you share a mutually dependent relationship with your boss. If you dont achieve your goals at work, it will affect the overall performance of your boss and the organisation. At the same time you will not progess or grow without the experience, knowledge and support of your boss. That is why there is...
