Presently in Andhra Pradesh, I see the Srisailam Dam one of the major Dams, has surpassed a 24 lakh cusecs where as the designed maximum flood discharge is only 14 lakh cusecs.

i dint find any weakness in our technology but its a high time to use it properly in planed manner. yes i m a fresher in this industry , i know tat i have less knowledge in this matter.

MAx flood discharge is based on past data at the time of design and therefore most of our dams and bridges may not be in tune with these types of flash floods occuring one off in a large duration.No design will take into consideration such freak...
