This is an ‘untold story’ from Mahabharat, published in a Sanskrit Magazine, many years ago. My father used to read it out to me and translate into my mother tongue. It goes like this: Duryodhan is lying in the battle field, awaiting death, badly bruised by the wounds inflicted by Bhima. He kept his three fingers in a raised position and is unable to speak. All the efforts made by his men to understand the meaning proved to be futile. Seeing his plight Krishna approached him and said “I know what issues occupied your mind. I will address them”. He clarified that the issues are a)      not building a fort around his capital city, b)      not persuading Vidur to participate in the battle c)...

Hindu-Muslim Unity                                                      May 11, 1921      That unity is strength is not merely a copybook maxim but a rule of life is in no case so clearly illustrated as in the problem of Hindu-Muslim unity. Divided we must fall. Any third power may easily enslave India so long as we Hindus and Mussulmans are ready to cut each others' throats. Hindu-Muslim unity means not unity only between Hindus and Mussulmans, but between all those who believe India to be their home, no matter to what faith they belong. I am fully aware that we have not yet attained that unity to such an extent as to bear any strain. It is a da...

Nice article..Thanks for sharing. It is very true in today's environment when politicians are trying to create hate among us. we all are Indians first before belonging to any region, religion and caste.
Rathin Deb  |  Commented  |  10 months ago
If you really see in India we all are equal, unfortunately the politician has made a divide for personal gains.I am sure none of this politician has read Mahatma Gandhi. Very unfortunate but true.

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day.. You may not realize it,  but it's 100% true.   1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.   2.. At least 15 people in this world  love you in some way.   3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.   4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.   5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.   6. You mean the world to someone.   7. You are special and unique.   8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.   9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good co...

India Must Tell Pakistan to Keep Off the Indian Mujahideen Mercifully, no evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in the latest terror carnage in Mumbai on July 13 has surfaced so far. Thankfully, the Government of India has kept a cool head and refrained from throwing barbs at Pakistan for Mumbai’s Bloody Wednesday. India has displayed political and diplomatic maturity by not unilaterally cancelling Pakistan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar’s India visit later this year and External Affairs Minister S M Krishna has firmly stated that the July 26-27 talks in New Delhi between him and Khar will take place as scheduled. The Indian restraint is laudable because if India were t...

Honesty and diplomacy are two things which everybody use to get success in his/her career. I think social media is creating an environment where people tend to be more diplomatic rather than honest.

It definitely is making us more and more honest. No one can say 'I was sick' and later post holiday pictures can they??

I can see another price hike in petroleum! Why?? Well isn't that obvious the demand -supply principle? Iran has given notice to India. They will sto oil supply if the dispute over receiving payments from India is not resolved. National Iranian Oil Co (NIOC), the state oil firm that supplies around 12 percent of India's oil imports, set the deadline in a letter dated June 27 to Indian refiners. The official anyways told Fars that the letter was not sent officially by NIOC. Iran says India owes it $5 billion for oil imports in recent months. Earlier this year, Germany allowed India to pay for the oil via Hamburg-based EIH bank, which handles international trade for Iranian companies. But Indi...

Cloud’s response to Chaplin:   Western history’s last 100 years prove that they never approved of excessive human interface in business to avoid disparity in quality, human slavery and trade union problems. In the 1930s, filmmaker Charlie Chaplin highly criticized auto-mechanization and robotic human interface introduced in factories at that time. His film ‘Modern Times’   shows how factory workers remain stationary while repetitively performing a single function so the assembly line never stops. He illustrated automation for eating lunch. A machine is brought to the other side of the assembly line; its extended arm, aimed at the standing worker’s head height, puts food into his mouth so hi...
