Construction Supervision for up-gradation of Hungund to Belgaum State Road (length 170.306 km) under Karnataka State Highways Improvement Project, Phase - II, Package U - 8 (World Bank Funded under ICB norms and FIDIC Conditions of Contract) Total Project Cost: INR 280.93 Crores Client: PWD, Govt. of Karnataka Type of Pavement: Flexible Responsible for supervision of the project under FIDIC conditions of contract covering the assignments of review of the detailed design and recommending necessary changes and modifications as per the requirements, examination and certification of the construction drawings, preparation of Quality Assurance Plan, Inception Report, various Review Reports, monitoring and examination of the contractors setup, measurement control system, checking of the setup of the contractors laboratory, construction machinery and equipment, preparation of the testing program and its monitoring, review of the contractors quality control system and method statement, organize administration and introduce reporting and recording system, monitoring and certification of progress using CPM/PERT diagrams, ensuring construction works are being performed in accordance with the EMP, preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports, monitor the measurements and certification of quantities including the claims of the contractor, costs and time extension, coordination and monitoring of the works of other experts/specialist, deal and liaison with the client, government bodies and contractors of adjacent contract packages, issuing the variation orders, preparation of taking over certificate, routine inspection of the construction work, monitoring of the rate of progress, maintenance and updating of the progress report, maintain and update the payment records, produce various progress/project reports, daily diaries and manuals, prepare final completion reports. Has also been responsible to advise and assist the employer in all the technical, legal and contractual matters, revision in the plans, documents and specifications and issue of instructions, approve the working drawings prepared on time to time basis, review of the contractors safety plan and its implementation, monitor and contribute to the project awareness program etc. Also involved in imparting training to the Client, Supervisory Staff and Contractors Staff in various aspects of Contract Management, Contract Specification and Road Construction practices.
