Technology in always a boon. It helps in making our life easy. Its worth paying for such a technology which will help in our development. We are still lacking behind in technology compared to other countries so we should not look at the cost when we are growing......

A BIG BOOM in the sense it will give much more facilities to the consumers. Govt will get 70000 crs, a 1 time fee, but it will also bring more money daily from the taxes which will be applicable on this service. So cheers to all the parties related to 3G - The consumers, The companies, & the government.

Thanks Sumitra ji, on your meaningful contribution.

3G Spectrum is technology advancement & "boon" for society.

3G Auction is also a "boon" for Government. It will bring in funds for development.

Both shows that Indian economy is in "boom".

3G technology entering India finally and GOI taking right actions to bring it properly to the people with competitive spirit, what's wrong in it ? Its good.... Newer technology has always benefitted the masses.

Hi ... Mr. Sudhakar, U are from A&T and asking us whether .. ...   !

What is the core issue here ? Telcos participated in the "auction" and the highest bidder/s got their allotment/s. Do U suggest that they have had made bids only to suffer losses .. ? Nobody forced them to take part in the auction - does these not mean that India has a great potential for 3G .. at least in the long run ?

Now, what is the disturbing factor ? That GOI has gurnered 'some' fund out of the auction ?

People of this great country think otherwise. Fund collected by GOI is people's money and may well be utilized for welfare of the countrymen. U .. know, ours is a "Mixed-economy" ... ?

The 3G auctions have proved immensely beneficial for the government as it has surpassed its revenue target by a huge amount. But the same cannot be said about the telecom industry, struggling due to ultra-low tariffs and diminishing scope from voice calls. Do you think that this transfer of loanable resources from the telecom industry will constrict availability of credit for itself?

While making 3G available is good, I'd say auctioning the technology availability is bad. To participate and win an auction the telecom companies spend huge money. How do they get that money back? From the customers. Any which way, we'd get technology and services at exorbitant prices. What's the point?

India is already late in adopting the technology, the world is already using 4G.

I'm against the spectrum auctioning process. I'm not completely clear on an alternative but there could be a democratic process.
