Today social networking has become a necessaity and kids are catching on fast to it .Due to lengthy school hours ,study pressure and fear of direct feedback .Many kids prefer to use one way communications of social networking like facebook orkut and twitterand my space .The application and games on them keep them engrossed and in touch with their freinds .Moreover its one platform where the kids voices are heard and understood as the ones they interact with are also kids and in same situations Many atimes assignments ,projects and schoolwork are also discussed moreover its the kids own space where they can show their own self without getting ridiculed or laughed off as long as the freinds network remains the real known freinds this sites help the children to connect .which can be boon for shy kid in real life

Yes there is nothing wrong. It gives them much more exposure and learning. But make sure they don't get addicted, which might disturb their education.

Its no harm in Networking. But my view is Why we need this. It becomes an requirement of People lives in City who cant able to have personal network. But at their level or age they could have attend any Club meetings, Like Toastmaster, Theater club, Laughter Club so that they can avoid the problems in Internet Social websites.

I would rather say that it is not the social networking which is bad but it is inability of child to understand pro/ cons of interacting without knowing about intention of person on other side which makes one vulnerable to attacks vis-a-vis misuse his/ her information.
