What about games in share trading? please have a try.. it will virtually sets up a real trading environment where one can practice it.. Not all game are made for fun.. Sudoku helps a lot in decision making and strategic thinking provided one is not getting addict to any game for instance.. http://benefitof.net/benefits-of-sudoku/ It totally depends on extracting the logic from the game and applying it where ever it is feasible @ work..

Effective.. Provided the indirect traits in game and work are properly linked and the trainees are educated clearly how should be perceived and applied at work.

I think Simulation is better for training a manager coz this avoids the risks involved in direct exposure to the real job. This risk is more for a manager job. Marketing and Finance managers may find it helpful in dealing with simulated situations on how to handle the job. Advertisement managers can deal with mock ads and its effects can be evaluated. But when it comes to technical training, I think better is Job traiaing. Coz there's a drastic difference between object and concept..

It is not like that companies plannig game as training programme and you have participate and play. There is specific motive behind it like team work, timely implementation of stratagy, leadership quality devlopment, situation handling, goal setting and many maore as per requirement of organisation. How many are attentive in class room training for hall session? Hardly few. Game will increase your intrest becose you are doing something diffrent and teach you the lession very easily. This technique is adopted in number of organisation and they have got success. We can consider it different than same boring class room training.

Sorry Ms. Garhi, Recently I have seen a Toy," Drone" thats' expensive & needs little bit mental understanding . However, it develop the cognitive skill in " Problem solving" & "Decision making". It flies at a height of 60 foot & is controlled by a console from the ground. It teaches the children the ability to know the manaevouring of helicopter(Drone is an unmanned copter designed by military to carry surveillance). Now-a-days, the toy makers does not remain, just producing the toy for money. They, also, put in scientific ideas & skills to be learned by the players. Similarly, the Farmville is offering various kind of Games that can obviously ,be aimed to develop the skills of the employees in their Work. When, it is appropriately planned & designed, it can be used to develop the skills of the employees.

To train employee on regular interval is very much essantial now a day. Audio visual activities, games and indoor and outdoor activity seems to be more effective than only class room training. Success and failur of any trining depend on trainer method to present the things and employees involvement during the training. But this will impact much better on employee than any class room trianing becose employee's involment in activity will be better than classroom training only.

Appreciate your point of view on this. But it largely depends on the facilitator, his/her selection of the activities and delivery style . If the message is relevant and solves the purpose in an interesting manner, I suppose this can prove to be effective.

A different approach is always appreciated by the employers provided, it shouldn't be tough to comprehend. While developing such new techniques to train the people the management should make sure that they have a scale or tool to measure the outcome of the training. without that its of no use.

Corporate may have included this method but as many of todays technologies and practices this methodology was initially adopted by Defense forces to train their professional for different scenarios it is a low cost option to train you employees plus it offers advanced simulations of scenarios and primarily this have been practically proven that audio-visual mode is best to train oneself.

Games are developed for single motive that is fun and any profession is not a matter of joke so job can be fun if you take interest but fun can never be a job unless profession like comedian or joker. I agree that there are some real time strategy games available but that too is concerned with a particular profession, the games like Microsoft Flight Simulator is actually developed keeping the pilots in mind and games like Delta Force gives soldiers to plan their next move but still about a corporate world or ministerial job these things are just trash and has no positive output. Time wasting stuff for grown ups.

if someone get the idea of how a company works, especially companies engaged in the service sector.....why would he look for a job..........any bunch of intelligent people can form a group and start up a new corporation. Moreover too many unwanted people will know about how such companies works and may conduct their dealings in unethical way......compounding problems for the company.

Not exactly.. There are many other ways in which you can train your employees. Though this method may lift up the briskness and learning abilities of the employee, this is not exactly the potential way to train. I suspect that this training becomes boring after some time.

Unfortunately i feel here lack of option. I would like to say only the thing that whatever you will choose the game for training, you must have to make change the way or style for training on regular interval. Because now a days, people want change something. Whatever you follow the game for training, you should need to make it update. Ultimately, training is also a game in which trainee need to learn and after that go ahead.. Thanks Gargi for referal..
