Isha...with due respect what if one of your family member was burnt to death in those riots.Would you say the same("Put the journalist behind bars")??? These acts are the reminiscences of what use to happen when Indians were revolting against British pre-independence. Bravo! We will witness many such incidents in future until we see change for the better......

I m sorry if I sound prejudiced or even communal. Unfortunately in India. the most abused and misused word is "secularism". The meaning as well as importance of the word "secular" begins and ends with Muslim community. 1984 riots were bloody massacre and we all know what happened and how. But Govt don't bother too much simply becoz Sikhs, do not form sufficient voting block to change their political destiny. It is infact, even an insult to Muslim community as well that they treated the way they are. Imagine, a person who had attacked the most important legislative polity of any democrasy parliament, and even after due process of law, he is convicted none other then our Apex court. Inspite of that Congress is not executing the order to sentence Afzal Guru simply they think that it might hurt Muslim sentiments. Do our Muslim community is anti-Indian to feel hurt if a man convicted by Apex court is meted out the justice? 1984 riots is bleeding spot on our secularism and yet...Varun Gandhi by just making a election speech and making some observations about congress and Muslims is targettted viciously and even imposed NSA and Jagdish Tytler is allowed to go scot-free. Blood boils.....

Yes, The journalist was right in the manner he protested. In india all criminals are given clean chit. No action is taken against them. This issue had also not been attented for a long period, he might have thought this would be the way to bring this issue in light. This should serve as a lesson for the other political leaders who play with the sentiments of the people.

I suppose, Isha, you have missed the larger issue, we are talking about. The act of journalist is disgusting. He himself has admitted that. Such shameful act cannot be, under any circukstances, be justified. What, I am attempting to imply is the sheer duplicity of Congress party. How they are deviding in real sense of the term, the communities of India. We can talk about the journalist behind the bars for life, all right, but what about the person who was out to kill the entire parliament? He is the VIP guest of our government....Varun is booked under NSA and Jagdish Tytler is allowed to go scot-free. That is the debate. The sheer duplicity of governmnetal action is frightening creeping in public like us as well. Let us understand in deapth the actions taken by government and reactions given by us. We are not defending the journalist. As I said, he simply cannot be defended. However, why we are dreadfully silent and not being critically objective when something like this happen.
