It’s all about your work ethic, working smart and not hard. Sometimes for some people it can be buttering up your boss that has helped some people get ahead. But the success of that does not last for long. It really all depends on the situation at hand but a person should have high respectable standards, good morals and good work ethics. ~Business Consulting Services: www.CEOBusinessManagement.com

I strongly believe in hard working with effectively and contributing to the company that will bring success to the carrier. Obidient to the boss is different from buttering the boss. A good boss or a good leader will never like the buttering and any boss likes only buttering can not be a good boss. Like everybody wants to be appreciated or recognized for their contribution in all organizations and to this extent a boss can be buttered to keep him in good mood to lead his team. After all a boss is also a human being. But sheer buttering can not be acceptable for a good leadership. Thanks for the referral Mr. Surendra Vyas.

Endurance of success depends upon the level of the boss one is buttering. If the level is one of Chairman or Managing Director or PResident, and the establishment is family-run, obviously, buttering helps! Otherwise, only knowledge, hard work and perseverence to achieve goals - both self and the organisation's goal should be the motive to achieve success!

I am agree with those peoples who comments for "Buttering ur Boss", but I wanna ask to them what will you get with this is only money. But if you are giving your 100% that means you are capable to do this and you desrve too, and the post or designation which you deserve will be yours without buttering your boss also. In corporate, the decision is not only of single person. They have to report to their seniors and before promoting any one they must have valid reason. If you know that you give your best and you are better from others, then you may fight and raise an issue in HR. It may harm you also but at last you will get what you deserve.

One point of view also says, if your senior is really a "Boss" then he definitely seek buttering. On the other hand if your senior is a "Leader" he will never allow you buttering!

I am not in the support of buttering of our boss, because i think that if we give our 100 % and we are right in our position then i don't care what others are going to do nothing will going to happen with us. It is true that every body wants to sustain in this competitive world but it doesn't mean that you have to buttering your boss, and remember if you are doing so the result will not last for long term yes, you will get success by buttering your boss but that too will be of very short period and after that you will be of nowhere. And frankly speaking some portion of it also depends on the bosses or HOD/faculty of the organization or the institution. If they are right in their position then no body dares to do such sort of activity.

Don't mind ,buttering around lecturer or boss may cause profit to you but it never gives you satisfaction because your mind knows that what you have achieved be it marks or anything not on basis of your capability & if you are not capable then what's meaning of success then.Students may get more marks but they surely well in their future at some time but wise student never never at all.if you butter around your boss you never will become the boss.

I would say being straight forward is not always good. It should be remebered no profession is singleman show. One has to work in team. The team work means you cannot say some one is unfit. Because when you say some one is unfit, you are admitting that yourself is also unfit to that one. Thus a diplomatic approch will always make you in win win situation. Not only in profession, one can practice it in his family, society & friend circle. Only one thing should be remembered that there should not be shrewd of self centric diplomacy.

There are as usual, two sides to this coin. Working and giving the maximum to one's job is essential to success in a profession. That is a given. But 'buttering the boss' could be admissible in addition. After all the poor boss is a human being and requires some psychological stroking. But only to an extent. A boss who relies much on buttering by subordinates could be an insecure person and not much helpful to one's career in the long-run.

I completely disagree with buttering your boss to grow. It is a complete looser attitude for an ambitious person. First of all you shud never work for your boss. You shud work towards ur own development. You shud think how u can be unbeatable and shud work towards making urself perfect in all aspects which requires hard work, focus and belief. This is ur career and you shud decide where you take urself and not ur boss. People who hand over the career to their boss shud think twice before they try to become their pet. You shud always try to develop your own book of success and dont try to be a page within your bosses success story. One who cannot build his own empire is one who starts wagging their tales in front of their seniors. We should always respect our seniors, their designation and their experience but he is not the one who will decide my career.

Well you never know how your boss will be. There are many type of bosses majority of which generally belive & trust on work ethics & potential of the subordinate & do not like buttering. However the bosses fond of buttering can be dealt diplomatically. Technically you are working for a company not for a boss. Hence you can be diplomatic to such type of boss while remaining loyal to your work ethics. Remember, as long as you are efficient & capable, you would be treated as a bull. Even the bosses fond of buttering will never interested to leave you. A diplomatic approch would solve both's interest.

Buttering your boss will not last longer. The movement the higher-ups comes to know such thing, both will be fired. In my view, it is always better to work honestly, give your 100% and enjoy your work. Remember, when you are correct no one can do any harm to you. And even if it happens then that will be for a very short period.

its quote difficult to say buttering or hardworking. but its good if you have buttering skills, to come up in life in short-cuts and quickly by buttering your reporting person. cos, he is the one who gives or recommend you for opportunities/hikes or whatever. being an employee, one should have the skills to butter his/her higher person. there we get ladders to climb up irrespective of your skills, handwork, efficiency or being worth for whatever. Happy buttering, (by the way, i am not buttering but, working in between those idiots, whose wealth/position.fame is increasing day by day, year by year)

I would like to support 'Buttering the boss'. If we are able to give your 100% and also getting appreciation for your work from our team then we can support the 1st one.But if any one wants to survive in the Organization with giving only 50 to 60% effort so this Buttering can help him.Because most of us perhaps like this type of attitude of others. But it is not long lasting for us.We need to improve our skills from 60% to 100% at same time while we are buttering our boss. Because one may get bored from your buttering behavior so then we can show our 100% effort and result.

For our country like India subject of Buttering the Boss is very much interesting. As per my opinion emplyee working sincerly should think for tne mentioned subject. The employee those are interested for undue advantage iare always buttering the boss. In fact it also a part of boss i.e. regarding his nature, emotional& professional ethics, type of job, mission and vision of organisation, ultimate aim of the company. working condition, nature of job, needs of higher management are the important issue for the people engaged in employment. A sincere worker should ready for buttering the boss. He should deny the illegible order of boss in place of buttering, vis-vis boss should also take care of each type of employe, their basic need, development, promotion, management target etc. R.K.Swarnkar
