ofcourse it is the writer  is  important than the movie stars.

the writer is the one who thinks about a heroic character and makes it work by writing the script.

the hero only acts according to the director.

a well built screenplay can be made to a hit by acting of average cast.

almost all of our superheroes are average or below par actors

For the success of song the lyricist and music director are resposible an they should get the benefit of the same.irrespective of the fact that on who it was picturised.Success of the song depends on the music and sinbger and the lyricist.

It is a pathetic hypocracy with commerical back up! All the producers and stars keep parroting all the time that Script of the film is hero. If a script is good, then the stars would have something to perform and all that.

They all also mimmic ironically the same statement that "u see we don't have many good writers around......."

But when it comes to pay cash or credit to the creator of the Script, they suddenly devlop cold feet for all the  wrong reasons.

They don't mind paying fabulous sum of money to some star for a guest apperance but will hesitate and mostly will not pay the writers their dues.

The system is also somewhat responsible for this ironical situation.

If the script is the best or the lyrics are wonderful, but with lesser known "stars" , the producers will get much lesser amount for their film. Even if the writers are established, the price of the film is determined by the stars and producers.

So we have this typical catch 99 situation.

But undoubtedly, writers, script as well lyricists are getting insulting raw deals and something needs to be doen about it desperatley and urgently.

The script and music are supposed to be soul of the film, and writers are the most neglected part of the productins!

Well... its unfortunate that people from same fraternity are having differences in a way that undermines the contribution of one of the stakeholders. Actually the film is made not only by actors or directors or script writers... it is a wonderful mix of all the art forms which are put together to emerge as a nice experience to the viewers(although it doesn't happen all the time, but I feel the motive is same). Now, If you give a comment that some body who is not important, it shows the narrow-mindedness of that individual. first of all the very conception of the film is not based on any star, it starts with a solid script first and that only works. If you have a solid script then that film is bound to get the attention. And for that matter to portray the sentiments of the script you need good and sensible actors, not a STAR. To quote a simple example, take 'A WEDNESDAY'. This film does not have any so called stars. The script is the only star in this case.

So, I think the question here is not that who is more important. The question is what is your attitude about it. And i feel the so-called stars should show some courtesy and try to understand that a film is result of collective effort of all the people who are involved in it. 

supports. it is very common and pathetic that a film producer is ready to pay more for a "few frame" onscreen artist than the people (writers , technicians ) behind it. music comes first as we all know so its quite sad the "words" usually forgotten.
