As everybody will be knowing that pursuing an MBA in Abroad will cost you anything between 10-20 lacs, and then if you want to get into top B-schools in abroad it might even go upto 30 lacs for it and this not a small amount but then if one is smart enough, they can pay back in the first year itself if they get job over there, So what do you think is MBA from abroad is it worth the money!!  Share your views on the topic

I wonder...because there are many schools that are absolutely great and internationally recognised.

Most students make the mistake of  looking at the name or the geographical location of a school in the US.Instead look at what you want and find a school that is well   known for that discipline.

Secondly-the biggest two advantages is the cross cultural nature of the school but more importantly....the mode of study. Our B-schools still teach...our focus is not learning nor is it independent study

Well, it all depends on the school where you want to do your MBA, because doing MBA from TOP B schools are recognized all over. Doing MBA from a MID school abroad is same as doing doing in INDIA...

If money is not a constraint, you can go for Abroad MBA...

Did you know that getting work permit from Australia is very difficult.

I think that is quite a huge mistake to think that Harvard etc is the only one.You kind of left out the brilliant ones that are not Ivy League.Mmmm and in no way can you compare our system with the west.Even in the so called mid range as you have called them, the faculty help you to learn .In India we still teach-and the student has very little opportunity to grow up and be an adult who can make mistakes yet learn.

Doing MBA from abroad changes your mindset and exposes you to variety of challenges that leads to enhanced form of learning. It exposes you to a completely different environment and discrete style of learn.  Whereas, If you do it from India, you miss-out that off beat perspective and loose the chance of knowing what Americans, British, French, Saudi, or Chinese think about the same problem. Moreover, the biggest advantage of doing MBA (Regardless of where you do it from) is the kind of people you meet, the network you create around you, and it’s equally valuable. So, my take on this is do MBA from reputed business school, the first preference should be abroad (only reputed ones), if not than IIM’s and other Indian business schools are equal in terms of learning, networking and academic rigor. Thanks.

Yes i do agree that one should go for MBA for Abroad and they should not hesitate in pursuing their MBAs from Foreign universities, it will just change the whole mindset as such and the competition that one will see there will make him ready to take on the world head on when he comes out with the degree, The standards that these B-schools maintain is very high and one will be in better position to get job with Abroad MBA and i do not agree with my colleague on saying Abroad MBA is not worth the money.

According to me one should go for an MBA from abroad, if one can arrange the money of 10-15 lacs one should really go for it, the experience itself will be great and the amount of things that can one learn there is really great, but then it depends on the person whether he can accomodate himself to the standards of the coaching there and compete with others there.  So it is really worth the money for pursuing an Abroad MBA.

No it is not worth until he gets his MBA from top B-schools like Harvard, wharton or ISDEAN on those lines yes it is really good but it costs too much but if he goes for other B-schools it is like the same doing an MBA from mid rung B-schools in India... Infact the IIMs are very good and have very high standards which are of high repute from all over the world...
