A training or academic study certainly gives boost to the konwlege, skill and confidence. My previous employer encouraged me to go for studiess which helped me ingaining necessary knowledge and sharing the same ultimately leading to better team reesults and output. Companies should encourage and employees also should have aptitude to acquire new kowledge and qualification which helps the employee as well as employer gain good results and output.

Any company which eggs on their employees to pursue higher education during the course of employment, is helping them to tread on the right path. This gives an additional impetus for them to perform. They feel that they are being looked after well. This will go a long way building a strong relationship between the Company and the Employees, no doubt, even if they are not sure of how long the Employee stays back.

it's very true that our learning never ends as long we are on this earth and to be a contineous learner we need to have the interest to learn from every incidence and experience we came across which adds feather to our cap and helps us earn more.

Yes definately education adds the value in your career growth and employer should encourage and employee should be self motivated to reach the final goal. Without learning no one can sustain a continuous growth in the industry

Learning is an art. Everybody learns every moment. Observation only can detect it, conscience can imbibe it and habits/actions can develop it. Many things do not give any effect, since we fail to understand that we have learnt.

Mr. Abraham to get your attention I had to oppose your argument/contribution to this debate. Are you saying that once you have attained some sort of education and find employment you don't need any further training but should use your common sense? Or are you saying that we should not want to learn nor educate ourselves but use our resources and we will succeed. Which resources are you talking about? Did you ever come across persons with many certificates who cannot work or some with very little academic who can work very well? Don't you think both of these categories need to do training and also to uplift themselves by doing some sort of study?.
While I agree with you to an extent that some jobs do not need additional training, there are still many that needs further training. Don't you think the older folks who are still working before modern technology was introduced need to be trained to use these gadgets.
Would love to hear your views. We are not having real debates here but just expressing our views and support our arguments when it gets opposed. I would say more of an informal debate.

Definitely yes ... Good Companies generally support, sponsors such academic and professional studies / courses for talent enrichment and better performance from their employees and at the same time learning is lifelong process as part of experience, which we may learn sometimes by our mistakes ... But more important from all these learnings is inner wisdom or experiential wisdom which you learn out of your inner experience like many who have known and talked about it like Rabindra Nath Tagore ... Any learning which has not become part of our experience or internalised is not very effective !

Hi Sujit, Thank for your view. There are many people who would support for 'No' in this debate. As per theri perception there are many reason for them for not to pursue any study while on job. I believe govt. employees have not seen this debate yet otherwise it would have been flooded with 'NO' :-) I can also see you comment in the 'NO' section as well :-)

I benefited from international training that has helped me tremendously in my profession. One was paid for by my previous employment and the other was a scholarship which was sponsored by the Govt of India. To date I have done several local training.

Fully agreed with you Sanjay. Learning alongwith working is right way to boost up your knowledge and update with latest terminology and methodology. I have done my MBA during my previous job (Own expenses) and enjoying the benefit of that. Sometimes its little time taking but it will defeneteally help in terms of knowledge, skills and carrier.

Every second we could learn something from life. As learning is a process which never ends. We can loose money but learning, will be there. Comapnies who want their employees to study more is a great idea. Studying while working is like "ek panth do kaaj" good for every one...And i suggest if your company is providing such support so, step forward to get the chance...

Hi Dinesh, Thanks for your views. Many companies now sponsoring their employees for further study (Most of the time conditions apply). I believe these courses really help. If I am in CRM in my company and pursuing course in CRM then it will help for sure. Since this is my interest area and now I can create a correlation between therocitical and practical aspect of CRM.

Sanjay you really fortunate enough to pursue the professtional course on the expense of the company. I do agree with you its really increase your qualification and you get some practical experience also. But, do you think that Distance learning courses work, I have pursued MDBA (Master's Diploma in Business Administation) from Symbiosis, and till now I have not been benefited from it. Although it is there to reflect it my resume. Never the less I also believe that learning never goes waste and it will really be benefited to me at some point of time. As you said learning never ends, I agree and I still want to pursue some other couse to be in the race with this changing world.
