hi Himanshu, to some extent this is a right step. but, it all depends on how parents care for their childrens growth i.e. the amount of learning children gets from their elders in these kind of sensitive issues.

I agree with Roop!! I am not being pious or saintly, but once your children turn teens, they will find their own way to look at the birds and the bees!! However, trying to tell them whats in store after they turn 18 and right in the house in front of you is a bit too much. The argument about culture etc is humbug, its more of respect that matters here. Discretioanry measures are very important to instill some discipline. Thats the reason why we have DOORS and WINDOWS with locks!! imagine a world where parents are going at it and the son/daughter comes trotting in saying"Will you please hurry up, my and my guy/girl are raring to go!"... That would be the day I would personally whip my ward and myself for allowing such profanity to enter my home. and destroy the respect of being parents and guides to our children!! Thanks for the referral Himanshu!

I do not think it will work. Because the internet is easily available , and on internet all that stuff is also easily available to all the children in the world ! And with the latest mobile techologies in the market, the so-called prohibited / banned information is being shared by the children, straight in their bed ! The internet sex and mobile sex is no more something new to talk and discuss about ! Recently, the USA Government was worried about "Sexting"/"sextexting", in which children/teenagers were sending the pictures of their private parts to their friends to excite their sexual feelings so that no further time should be wasted to have sex ! In this case , don't you think the entire drama of locking the TVs is a futile, time, resources, money and energy wasting exercise. If people want to befool themselves, it is another thing, but Children of this generation around the World know about Sex, and practise sexual activities, much more than our expectations. The number of child and teenage-pregnancy may be shocking in most of the countries, including India, already, the demand of the time should lead to sex-education among the children, and give them a proper direction to manage and regulate their sexual behavioural patterns, norms, and habbits, rather than whiling away time on such impractical ideas. The minds of children should be ignited with more fruitful, positive, meaningful creative ideas, and better options than Internet, and their time and energy should be channelled into right direction. And Studies, Science, Literature, and Sports could possibly be so some of the available options... Thanks & Regards.

I second Sarika on same.. Very well said.. :)
We always wanted to have ppl like you to change this society!! .. We must stop ourselves from watching such things first..
Childrens are our reflection, and they learn more of What we do, rather What we teach..!!

The government seems to be lagging behind the industry in these matters. Already there are TVs which have parental locks. What more can the government want? If it tries to overcomplicate matters and come up with its own version of parental controls then such a move will only cause confusion and not improve anything.
