Europeans believe that Indian leaders are too blinded by new wealth and deceit to comprehend that the day will come when the have-nots will hit the streets. http://www.thehindubusinessline.in/2010/05/31/stories/2010053150300900.htm Extract below:- Europeans believe that Indian leaders in politics and business are so blissfully blinded by the new, sometimes ill-gotten, wealth and deceit that they are living in defiance, insolence and denial to comprehend that the day will come, sooner than later, when the have-nots would hit the streets. In a way, it seems to have already started with the monstrous and grotesque acts of the Maoists. And, when that rot occurs, not one political turncoat will escape being lynched. The drumbeats for these rebellions are going to get louder and louder as our leaders refuse to listen to the voices of the people. Eventually, it will lead to a revolution that will spill to streets across the whole of India, I fear. Perhaps we are the architects of our own misfortune. It is our sab chalta hai (everything goes) attitude that has allowed people to mislead us with impunity. No wonder Aesop said. “We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to high office.” (The author is former Europe Director, CII, and lives in Cologne, Germany. blfeedback@thehindu.co.in.)

This is the warning signal for dictatorial regimes. Especially a "clarion call" for our Hippocrates, playing the sensibilities of the common man woes under the garb of "Democracy"!

I totally agree to Cdr Himanshu Joshi, INCS that our being a mere spectator to every events of corruption and seeing our paid taxes running into the drain has been taken by our respected leaders as an acceptance to their loot. To add to this fact, they are following the same policy as that of the British i.e. Divide and Rule with the only difference that now we are being exploited by our own leaders instead of any foreigners.

When they see their resources being plundered by the one's who were supposed to protect, people get enraged. The simmering rage builds up into an agitation and when the have nots finally realise that their silence is being taken for granted, they break loose.India is on the verge of such a revolution. The loot at all levels, be it Governance, Corporate afairs, or any field has reached such alarming proportions that the citizenry has lost faith in our systems. The uprising is not far and unless the rulers of the country adopt thorough clean up measures, beginning with themselves, this country will be in chaos.
