Any product involves continues evolution, Change is always there and you can never avoid it. Agile model provides us with opportunities to grow/innovate at consistent pace. I support "Agile"

In my perspective the agile method would be next big thing in the software arena. As it bring in the developer, testers and stake holders together which helps in minimizing the bugs that would creep in the releases and also the short term released would help in better development and testing of the product.

The Agile Methodology believes in delivering fast and have to and fro communication with actual project user and developer. The main advantage is of estimations. The more accurate your estimations the more probability to deliver the product on time. This is lacking in Waterfall, the analysis phase doesn't give any clear picture of the implementation time. Other advantage of agile is to adapt with changing requirements. Requirement changes doesn't go well with waterfall model. Besides the Agile pattern is developed taking into consideration of many pitfalls of waterfall model. Hence it must deliver something better to waterfall.

Agile is good if we will not mix Waterfall process in Scrum. Scrum does not carry any time line about design phase. But ,Mostly we are tend to mix the design phase in Scrum which inturn makes Scrum methodology less successful than it should have been. I feel Scrum(Agile) suits best for PRoduct companies and waterfall still holds good for Services companies.

I will vote for Agile the benifits are: - Mostly all the time when we start our projects the requirment s are not very well defined and they become more and more clear as you in the project. - Estimations are always Estimations so you cant be 100% sure of the time you will need if you plan for say a whole year. -Better visibilty of the tasks and status -Good cordination between the team. -Small iterations can lead to valuable milestones etc etc the list goes on

IMO, SCRUM methodology (Agile) is worthwhile than traditional waterfall model if the Project is for shorter duration, you could track most accurately and release your product effectively. The only drawback is there are lots of processes that needs to be followed and they are time consuming :)

Agile is the development answer to market-driven. It is a more through method. Here solid product management can be done which is unlike to waterfall.

If my personal opinion is considered I would go for waterfall model. It is better aligned with the responsibilities of solid product management, as it provides more reasonable periods of time to properly research your market and better define your requirements. For Agile I would say that it is more chaotic.
