If you are ambitious and if you are not growing you may need to leave the current organization. Again if you are loyal that a hard step to take. Which one you will prefer?

I will leave if the things are really not in my way. There's no harm in being ambitious. But my first preference will always be to stay and find opportunities. If things are really not working and I am not growing, then the hard fact is that I may need to leave with pain in heart.

Loyalty plays a very important role in achieving your ambitions if your ambitions are prosperity in terms of knowledge, status, wealth and fame.

If you are an old trusted employee of an organisation, you can be given a change to enhance your skill sets without prior hands on experience in that field. However you would need to have an experience before you jump to another organisation. You have the tolerance in terms of time and learning through mistakes while working up the ladder of your ambition whilst your working with your current employer.

Loyalty will lead you only upto the point where a company is going!!

Ambition will lead you to the place where you have dreamt to BELONG. Ambition is the deepest desire that you crave to achieve and then take steps to go closer to achieving it. Even if its a thief or a pick pocket, they would hope to achieve a wallet thats filled with GREENS!!

Ambition is a weapon that DRIVES the desires, strategises the walk of life and demands you to take steps that will eventually lead you to the summit. 

Imagine where you would be if you were loyal to someone or something rather than where you are because you DARED to dream!! Go get it...

people being loyal wont take you any where and one should give importance to their ambition and take right steps in that direction even if they have to leave the the job...As Mr. Narayana Murthy the founder of Infosys when he was addressing his employees he said..."Love your job, not your company"....i think this phrase holds good and is apt for this topic.....

Loyalty word stands for those who have no other option. so i will say it's a defensive term to just say that you are not doing well in that particular organization.

Hi,

I think one can be ambitious as well as loyal, Ambition does not teach one to run after fame and fortune forgetting the basic human values.

If I am not growing I will definitely look for a different opportunity, but that does not mean I am not loyal. I will remain Loyal to the organisation till my last working day. My intension should be not to create any problem to the organisation because of my job change, I should serve proper notice period before leaving.

People who are not growing in any organisation but still do not intend to change their job does not mean are loyal. They might be scared to take any new challange (low confidence and knowledge), might be Happy with whatever they are getting (no Ambition), or some other hidden reason.

At the end It's a give and take policy - I will give my best to the organisation and I will expect the best in return. If I cannot give my best, Organisation is not going to retain me year after year, so why should I stick with the organisation which is not giving me the best which I deserve.

Being loyal will not take you where you really intend to go, as you will be taken for granted for your work and will not recognize your work that one is putting up for them, if one is not growing in the organization, then one should leave and look for other options.
