AMD processor is the best processor , the reason is it processes the application , since its pipelining of application processing is good compare to others , but the only problem with AMD is , it gets heated up because of fast processing only cooling system of AMD need to be increased

In the desktop environment intel is dominating the area purely performance wise with their Corei7 series. But who is set to buy their next fast processor for 40K above; yes only CEO's! While the AMD processors are set to give you lots of performance at very small cost. If you compare processors via price to performance ratio no one beats AMD. AMD was the first to develop and use DDR Ram,Fisrt to use on-die memory architecture,It launched first native Quad Core processor(Phenom X4), Its the first to launch 12 Core Opteron Server processors and dominates server processing market; with F1 teams using opteron's to process their engines blistring fast calculations. You can get a powerful single core AMD processor(Sempron which sometimes competes Intels Dual core while being single core) with a good nvidia motherboard in less than 4K that too comes with DX9 nvidia graphics for WinVista/7/Gaming support while the basic intel board with basic processor costs more than 5K and that too with less performance(compared to price) and poor graphics.
You can get a AMD quad core processor(Athlon2 X4) for less than 6K which outperforms intels 9K above sibling and also goes head to head with intels Core2Quad quad core processors which are a costly affair. AMD is the only company which also offers three core processors with the X3 suffix's(e.g. Athlon2 X3,Phenom2 X3 etc.). Nvidia a visiual computing giant have stopped making chipsets for intel processors and is from the begining making a very good chipsets for AMD so it counts for more chipset manufacturers making chips for AMD than Intel. Opposed to the past when finding a AMD motherboard was a Mission Impossible task at Computer parts market now there are more brands and manufacturers that support AMD and you are shown AMD combo(MB/Processor) by default if you do not mention the brand of CPU to the retailer.
While ATi an AMD own firm also makes some of the best known chipsets combined with AMD. The AMD processors are always found to be very performing in pure scientific calculations and thats why many techie peoples use them. AMD processors are also famous for their overclocking and rules gaming industry.

Actually the software companies makes tie ups with the hardware companies to use proprietory features of the hardware to make some processings faster so it tends to behave abnormally on the hardware which doesnt have those specific features. Its the duty of the software companies to revert to standard methods on the hardware which doesn't support those features but instead they like to make softwares which exits abruptly. The 32-bit processors breed from both Intel and AMD are based on x86 architecture standard so any software which supports your OS should work fine unless its using proprietary features.

Being in the computer business years ago, this writer found it difficult to stay in "touch" with the computer technology industry as it went and still goes through many changes today. It is not each month or each year, but nearly everyday, the computer industry seems to go through a metamorphosis that baffles even the minds of the layperson who has no idea even how to turn a computer on. At the same time, the competitiveness is extremely high between computer system manufacturers, the "big boys" in the retail end of the computer industry as well as the "mom and pop" shops that sell computers, software and peripherals. At the forefront of the computer manufacturing industry is not only the competitiveness between the MACINTOSH Computers and the PC, but between the chip manufacturers, AMD and INTEL. Both are good, but this writer has to believe and does believe that AMD has a competitive edge over Intel because it is a better made processor. Intel has been in the computer processor manufacturing business for many years and has been the big name of the processor industry. However, this writer who has had the pleasure of being a value added reseller for many computer products, computer systems and software for nearly seven years, has found that the computers that he had sold and the motherboards that he sold with the Intel processor on them were a bit more quirkier than anything he had sold on with AMD processors on them. The Intel computers were found the be somewhat slower and would lock up or crash more often than any computers sold with the AMD processor. This does not mean that this writer would not sell a computer with the Intel processor in it, but he would prefer the AMD over the INTEL. At the same time, what was interesting was the difficulty in convincing customers/clients that the AMD was better and more stable than the INTEL. The only way that this writer was able to do this convincing was to bring two computers on-site to the customers/clients and show them which computer ran the best. At the same time, this writer had to convince himself that the AMD ran smoother and with less problems than the INTEL processor. How did he do this? Easy, with the help of his partner, they would set up a work bench and with only the motherboard, memory, video card and a sound card plugged into their respective slots and then plugging into a monitor with the assistance of a mouse and a keyboard, the benchmarking began. Each and every time, the AMD would benchmark stronger and crashed less. However, one of the main "ingredients" to look at and this writer did it was to figure out which was better for what application. It turned out that for gaming purposes, and back in the mid-90s to late 90s, games were not as strong as they are today. Still, it appeared that the AMD allowed for game play to continue uninterrupted for hours at a time. What was nice for both processors was that word processing and database management only, both processors worked great, however, in the view of this writer, there were still less problems with the AMD processor. What really did it for this writer was the introduction of the INTEL Celeron Processor. This writer believes that the Celeron was not the greatest move for INTEL, yet, it was the less expensive option for those individuals who needed to spend less on their computer needs. AMD took this and ran with it and introduced newer and more advanced processors. Yet, still, INTEL remained the bigger name in the processor manufacturing market and this was and still is due to marketing and advertising. Finally, when it comes to buying computers, this writer will continue to purchase computers that have the AMD label and logo on it because he is convinced that it is still the more reliable one on the market today.

Most software works fine with AMD and none of the leading software make use of Intel only Code. This is purely mindset and with increasing innovation from AMD there is no more fear about its compatibility.

It is the " Intel "which is prevalent in the market. Not most of the people know or heard of AMD processors i suppose.

Intel is widely used Processor but AMD also good and fast but Intel is best according to my personal view as it has good speed compared to others and more durable and can support a verity of software and hardware.

Intel is a household name now, like Microsoft! But, AMD will not allow Intel to be complacent on their success, forcing them to invest more on R&D to compete with them. However, this is good for the customers and the global computer mart!

I agree with Priyanka. AMD is good and makes processors at amazing value for money. But along comes Intel on the Sandy Bridge. Though AMD has the advantage as a very good/budget option, that advantage has been eroded with Intel's release of it's Sandy Bridge series of processors. The best part is that for one-third the price of the "i" series, these Sandy Bridge processors deliver nearly equal performance. Thus medium-budget buyers can now redefine their ideas of what constitutes a powerful system.

Both the processors are good but I would prefer Intel over AMD as its the full system which ensures the performance for PC. It is the highest end processor based PC which contains other improper hardware may stay behind an AMD based system with proper hardware support…

I personally go for Intel Brand because Intel seems to be the choice of central processing unit (CPU) that most
of the software writers fit their programs around, if it runs on Intel
then it should run on most processors within the constraints of
processor power. Since the release of the Core2Duo line of processors from Intel, the market has shifted considerably. Mass producing, a booming market and sheer unsurpassed power has helped
Intel to cut prices and deliver amazing speed and stability for a very
competitive price where as AMD processors have been notorious for the massive amount of heat that they are capable of producing.
