In a recent news it is said that Google's Android surged past Apple's iPhone last quarter and is closing in on the Blackberry as the most popular smartphone platform in the United States, market tracking firm comScore said.  According to comScore, 63.2 million Americans owned smartphones at the end of December, up 60 per cent from a year earlier.

Blackberry maker Research in Motion was the US smartphone leader at the end of the fourth quarter with 31.6 per cent of the market but its share fell from 37.3 per cent the previous quarter, comScore said.

No way...one can say that iphone is a thing of past, iphone changed the game for all the smartphone makers out there, they are the top applications provider at the moment for smartphones where they are having more than 300,000 apps for that matter and others in the segment like Android and RIM are just catching up along but yes Andriod is doing well at the moment but they cant beat iphone away blackberry is facing many problems with their sharing encrypted data with security officials in many countries.....with iphone upgrading all the time I dont think that iphone is a thing of past now....

TASTE OF A PERSON MAY FLUCTUATE FROM TIME-TO-TIME, IT COMPLETELY DEPENDS ON THE ENVIRONMENT HE/SHE LIVES IN...WHEN IT COMES TO CHOOSING A BEST PHONE I THINK ITS ALL ABOUT POPULARITY AND ONE TENDS TO CHOOSE A PRODUCT ONLY ON THE BASIS OF POPULARITY.  TODAY IPHONE MAY BEAT ANDROID OR TOMORROW ANDROID MAY BEAT IPHONE VICE-VERSA.....IT COMPLETELY DEPENDS ON FAVORABLE TIME, TODAY IPHONE HAS BEATEN ANDROID UP,TOMORROW BLACKBERRY MAY BE PROMISING TO TAKE ON ALL THESE BRANDS....ON THE SPUR OF THE MOMENT I CAN'T SAY EITHER "YES" OR "NO"....LET THE TIME DECIDE EVERYTHING...

Definitely android and its latest version the 2.4 i think (unless it has been updated again)does give a better experience than iphone. But i dont think iphone would take it lying down being the innovator that it is. I ams sure they are burning their midnight oil on a better phone right now.

It's not a thing of past.. How can we say that? It's iPhone that makes other compete to them.. so Andriod is one which is cheaper and reliable, hence in competition.. but Apple and Android are like Ambani brothers.. both will make profits.. which sells services at lower cost will win..!!

Iphone is great hardware heavily limited by what runs it. Iphones are here to stay for their superior quality but folks like me would choose convenience and flexibility that Iphone doesnt ever provide.

Actually it is a future phone. Let it be in India for some time and with some dip in prices India will probably make apple proud.

The rule of the game will change since India is such a huge customer base. Some company's future will also be golden.

No way... It would be difficult to beat iPhone. The quality and apps are awesome. They have already tie-up with mobile operators and better annual plans.
