With mobile phones ruling the roost in the Indian market, it will be seen that many companies are setting their eyes on India as one of their prime destination for their new technology in Mobile space, as the number of mobile users increases  on a daily basis and it is said that in a very short time India will overtake the number of users than US and China.

And in a recent news Android which was a huge sucess and which is an open source software which works fabulously well and is not dependent on anything else, it is said that it will be an instant hit with small and average Indian start-ups as it is Java based which an average Indian programmer can work on. Isn’t it way beyond assumption that Android will rock.  As iphone and RIM(blackberry) have done reasonably well it would be good to watch how Android enabled phones fare..

Expectations are sky high with these Android enabled phones, more so when iPhone has done pretty well and companies are looking to duplicate the success. Andriod being a robust OS on an open source platform, and also many companies like Samsung and Motorola is also coming up with its Android phones and this will surely give iPhone and others a run for its money, but then to what extent remains to be seen.

If Android takes off, the competition between Apple and Google will certainly benefit the iPhone owners, as Apple will have to work harder to keep the device fresh and revolutionary to the current standards. So what are the things than can one eventually look forward to with regards to the iPhone if Android becomes a threat

   1. Improved 3G network speeds
   2. More openness & third-party application support
   3. Flash & Java support
   4. Better handling of documents (Android will most likely feature Google Docs)

iphone has already a very good grip in the market.In turn the users of iphone are promoting the same. In this conditions, I don't think, google can get market share so easily...
