Kavitha, Nice cartoon. "Hope you are not suggesting that since we delayed medicating an old ailment we should dump the patient". It is true it is extremely late, to initiate correction, yet this can not mean that we do not do anything. As for weather or not anything can be done there not an iota of doubt a strong leadership can change things overnight. The initiative of ANNA Hazare is sure to achieve results if democracy has to stay in this country.

Strength of conviction can never ever be challenged by persons clinging to stay in power. So while Anna carries along the strength of truth and honesty the others offering suggestions are merely standing on borrowed legs at best. This is akin to, difference between earned and borrowed.

It is proved well beyond doubt that only Gandhian methods will work in long run. There is no movement in the world that can sustain itself by violence. Please tell one incident in the history where violence is sustained and made people to work for common good?

War for Truth always wins. No matter Gandhian method or other methods, if anyone is fighting for truth and justice he is sure to win. This win is not easy to be attained but masses support have changed the world history have evidences for it. I am in full support of Mr. Anna Hazare. He is true on his part that a committee of corrupt politicians can never form a ANTI CORRUPTION LAW. Truthful leaders are very less and they should get full support from people like us in order to achieve success and justice. We should all support Mr. Hazare as he is not fighting for himself only, he is an Indian fighting a baatle for corruption free India. Now is the time for second Independence i.e. from corruption which is more dangerous than enemies from outside. BE AN INDIAN AND SUPPORT MR. HAZARE. WRITE LETTERS TO PRIME MINISTER'S AND PRESIDENT'S OFFICE AND LET THEM BEWARE THAT INDIA IS A DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY. Jai Hind.

Yes. I think this is the only way we may achieve something in India now. Our government has become so insensitive to popular needs, only drastic measures lie 'fast unto death' will make them active.

We can expect at least some measure of success. There is no guarantee with any other method as the facilitators themselves cannot be above reproach. Honestly I am thoroughly disillusioned with our political system and cannot digest that we elect these canards.

This is the only time-tested method that will be successful in India. Indian politicians are frightened of supporters and a person like Anna Hazare cannot be lured by them for petty positions or gains, and the support to his two-decade long fight on bringing this Lok Pal bill is continuing unabated. This time, it took a different dimension when the stalwarts from civil societies have joined hands without any hidden agenda is a great thing that this Bill in some form or the other will be tabled in the Parliament in the next session with support from majority of the opposition parties. This draft should look into all aspects, covering every citizen of this country, (four pillars), so that this menace will be rooted out for ever. If you want to call our country a largest democracy in the world, we should show our effectiveness in tackling this menace, joining hands with the Gandhian!

What work and What no is not important. Important is to make a step towards it. When Gandhi Makes his step i am sure he rarely thought that this will work or not. he just took step towards the wrong. and the same is by anna hazare. If one can support it will be good if not i think anna hazare rarely will be affected with that because it is his decision to step toward the wrong. Now We have to Think What is Our decision?

The entire system is so corrupt and interlinked, it will be a difficult issue...but we should also remember what happened in egypt ... Great leaders like Anna being followed by the nations youth can create strong ripples atleast at the reforms level...The more people support this issue the bigger obstacle it becomes for the congress party to stop it....

Anna Hazare is standing for Lokpal Bill. His Ghandhian way will work this time as Govt. is now sensitive to Public outrage against corruption. I think its time we have better stake on public issues like being cheated by schools donations, paying unnecessary property brokerage, unavailability or inflated price of day to day needs. We need our representative to monitor Govt. favors to certain individuals and action against flouting rules. We need Govt. to provide level playing grounds in open markets. Otherwise, our democracy is at danger. Anna Hazare is just a name at present, many people are willing to take the cause.

Father of Nation "Gandhi "Passed away long back, still he is living with us.... But his Unique medicine Jinda Tilismat "Satyagraha" and "Fast unto Death" mechanism are still working in our India. P.Sri Ramulu brought a separate Andhra Pradesh after his real Fast Unto Death and after his Demise. But in present age it is difficult to fight against corruption in India with any mechanism. We are in Top 10 countries of Corruption. What so ever it is, Somebody is taking a Good step and making us to awaken against corruption and to follow him. If not change the others at least change ourselves to some extent.Look into our innerself. But i am doubting about security of our Anna Hazare. Govt should give Top Level security for him. Otherwise we may get one more Godse from our great Parliamentarians.

I do not think that this will work out. Ghandhi satyagraha was against a foreign power. But, now , we have no alien here. Yes. we can register our concern to Govt through Gandhian way. say, as a token Satyagraha to appeal the mass to focus on certain issues. But, when it is focussed, we need to give time to react. Now, we are marching for progress & not trying to oust anyone out. Govt showed concern to his appeal & we need to look for remedy in the long run. Not immediately. It is a long process in a democratic country.

GandhiJee was very wise as he used his method against Britishers... who themselves had a great judicial and civil system in their own country. So it worked well. ( Could he do the same against say.. radical religious terrorists etc? He would be shot dead the 1st day itself if that were the case) On the contrary, Anna Hazare wants to use this method against terrorists and criminals. Naturally, there is no sense. :) Very obviously you cannot persuade lions, tigers and other wild animals to quit their method of killing with GandhiJee's method. One needs force only.

Frankly speaking eradicating corruption is really a Himalayan task. Making Hue & Cry is not going to fetch any concrete result. We can only talk about corruption and fasting unto death is absolutely wasting of time.It is unfortunate that our P.M DR MANMOHAN SINGH can only propose and only Sonia can decide.
