Is there a change in organizational structure lately, as we are seeing more and more women employees being considered for the top spot in a company, earlier women were considere for not so important jobs, but lately the scenariou is changing and we are seeing more and more female employees in the top spot.

So, what do you think people, Are companies today welcoming women for top positions?

I think yes, we are seeing this changing trend at the moment, what others thought impossible when they started their careers have successfully broken the glass ceiling to reach the top echelons of Corporate India. Women, who have more than 15 years of work experience, are seeing the doors to senior positions being opened without a creak, something unusual in an Indian talent landscape dominated by men.

I would quite disagree with others here, being a HR i have seen there is big gender bias in promoting women in an organization, forget CEO, VP and other things, they will be sceptic to promote them even for team leads at times, there are only few women employees who are CEO's like Indira nooyi, Kiran mazumdar, these are the only names I can come up with in my mind now, so the numbers should drastically increase and then we can say that women employees are considered for the top spot.

Today company's are welcoming WOMEN on top. But also the fact is that they are facing many challenges which can be a road blocker for them to rich the TOP. Like EGO of a MEN colleagues, family issues etc. But yes they are reaching top. Some examples are our own President @ India Inc. Pratibha Patil. Sonia Gandhi, President of Indian National Congress. Indra Nooyi, CEO, PepsiCo.

Hi Folks!!!

To an extent I agree with above viewpoint, that Cos are considering women for Top level Position in the org. Earlier girls with higher qualification are look down upon by the social circle .

Cos R promoting the Pink collar employees to  the top level of the management pyramid.

Add on to the above view point few months back a Russian news channel RT(Russia Today) TV Network showed that even the Russian companies Hv already taken The Pioneer step for  promoting the pink collar employees to the TOP brass positions in their corporate duniya.

 Thanks & Regards

Very truly

Yah! ofcourse it is happening in few sectors like banking but in many sectors like manufacturing men are still dominating. Scenario is changing but general mind set is like that women don't prove to  be a good managers as they can't work in pressures.

Yup it's happening but i want to say that girls should keep their original nature despite getting higher post. because moment they get position i have seen many girls treat themselves as extra-ordinary one & behave very strict with men like us. then again men lobby starts to discourage women so girls are good by nature keep it you all have great future

Most of the Indian Corporate as well as some department Govt are not encouraging the half population of India.

A lot of change will be seen after one decade in my opinion

Rightly said, the mindset of people has not yet changed and the scenario is yet to come over. But if women are put on top jobs ,the efficiency and productivity will increase ,positively.
