I would like to support the thought, as by promoting a product through web will restrict the sellers from offering lucrative gifts for refering their product as it will work as an open forum and will lead to an unbiased treatment.

If we can segment the doctors by their profile, then yes is the answer. But this segment may be less presently. For instance those of the doctors attached to institutions both in private and public sector and those in academical institutions may be choosing this line of promotion. For others we can formulate separate avenues online itself so that we can attract them also.Largely the success depends on the brand portfolio strength or services offered.

Indian doctors are more acustomed to the visit of med reps and product Managers giving details of products as they are docs are mainly interested in their practise and info from web becomes tidios for them .so when med reps impart their prod info they welcome it.Moreover patient is important as 80% docs belives in the relations developed by that medical rep or the manager.

They really don't have the time and intention to look into web for products. Until representative promotion is stopped , Drs will never look into web for products.

No, they are not ready to accept product promotion through web and precisely this is the reason they are lagging behind about latest developments in the field of medicine. And also they do not listen to Pharma representatives(who go to them to part some new developments)only to show that they know more than a pharma man. But in certain cases I strongly feel that a pharma man can give them a better and latest information than actually what they may be knowing.

I really dont think so, they want marketing people to come to them and explain them about new products or the same products which they are listening from many days, they want the freebies, and sponsor something for them, if not by this time we would have seen a reduction in the number of people in Medical representatives job, but still we see many people in that field. I don't thinkĀ Doctors are ready to accept product promotion through web. At the best the product manager will impartĀ best possible knowledge to the Medical rep and he inturn explains the same to the doctor, in this way the doctors are getting updated on the new molecules which are there in the market..
