More popular than TV .. perhaps no.

More popular than MW or SW radio ... perhaps yes.

If TV is just nearby, one may not avoid the 'idiot box'. Afterall its both audio and visual. When on move, say in a car, FM is the best choice even leaving the 'car audio player'. It gives us traffic news, some give the general news too. Some of the Radio Jokies on FMs are superb.

we can carry fm radio but television we can't carry any where. and we get updating news.

I believe that in todays fast paced life we get very less time to sit in front of the TV and trust me after getting back home at night, what you only see are the news and missing out of the most imp part and that is ' entertainment '. We need to keep ourselves alive and believe that FM channels are playing a good role in it. It not only gives you relaxing mood but also enjoy even at the time of your work and keep yourself updated with the news at times. I agree with what kavitha said that every body looks for the mobile which facilitates the feature of mobileFM radio, that being the reason for the change of handsets. The curent trends says it all that the mobileFM is becoming more popular than TV and I am confident that there is more to come with new innovative and productive methodologies in the near future.

Yes I agree that FM Radio is gaining more audiance than Television sets...

The placement is really excellant as max usage is during mobiising only.. as TV set can hardly carried along... so Radio has really made the Individuals to entertain themselves during Travelling, Office hours, Relax timings during day etc..

The singnificant advantage is again the Programs they run... they have really catched the Heart of Individuals in the Industry of Entertainment and Media..

Beyond Entertainment also its also excellant way for Advertising and Marketing Enjoying Low cost Advertisement Benefits over traditional Television Marketing.....

Though purely a choice of convinience but yes, FM is the platform that has made RADIO more popular than TV in the very recent times. Good point to raise for debating Abhishek and also for referring it Kavitha. The present lifestyle and compulsions thereof have a certain role to play.

Yes nowadays FM are becoming more popular than TV channels, because the programs are interesting and fun to listen. And mobile are the main reason for this change, every hand set has the FM option as default so people get used to it.

Today a person spends more time at workplace than at home and listening to FM has become a trend. Moreover TV channels are copying almost every program form one another and repeating the same for years.  So people get bugged up watching it.......

FM is creating more space to fit itself in the media and entertainment but it cannot overcome Television when it comes to competition. As when you are at move one only has an option to use Radio not TV so the importance is given to it but when one is at home then the priority will definitely go to Television. As we all like to see and here not only hearing all the time. Radio can never take the place of TV but definitely it is creating space to fit itself in the busy life.
