Hybrid cars have become popular in recent years due to what is believed to be their greater energy efficiency and environmental friendliness compared to ordinary gasoline cars. So are they economically sensible.

The very idea of hybrid cars shows that we are becoming responsible citizens of this world.Yes, the hybrid cars are in infancy stage compared to the gasoline counterparts in manner of power delivery and easy maintainance. Also, at present the price of hybrid cars are far higher than the conventional vehicles. But, the Ford model T started off with a modest bhp output. But, today we drive cars that are extremely powerful. The hybrid technology will evolve and will be accepted by all car users. The future generation needs clean air to breathe and its high time that we start thinking of a pollution free world.

I think Hybrid cars are going to be in fashion only for a few years. With the present fuel & oil crisis prevailing in the world I do not think Hybrid cars will have a pleasent future
in the coming decades.

There are two classes of hybrid vehicles in market, one which runs on conventional fuels such as gasoline, petrol and diesel and other on Hydrogen as a fuel. These vehicles have been developed to compensate the need of fossil fuels, whose reservoirs are getting diminished. It has been made for that time, when we won't be left with any fossil fuels. It's true that hybrid vehicles will need high investment at the time of buying but the fuel and the vehicle will have same mileage and efficiency as that of present vehicles along with the advantage of minimizing the green house gases, which has started the problem of global warming. The climate is changing day by day and that only because of ill effects of GHG's. The ways of production of H2 is also economical i.e reforming and others. Hence hydrogen is available for a longer time..

Therefore, hydrogen hybrid vehicles will surely rule the market in future..

The most apparent benefit of the hybrid vehicle is its fuel-efficient operation. Sure, you still have to make your visits to the gas station, but the advantage is that you will do so less often. Because of the hybrid vehicle’s electric motor, the energy your hybrid produces is much cleaner. In addition, your hybrid will automatically shut off the gasoline engine during stops or when your car is idling.

Hybrid vehicles are still oriented around the gasoline engine. Oil and gasoline supplies, however, will disappear at some point in the future. Hybrid gasoline-electric vehicles, therefore, cannot be a long-term solution. They are also, in this manner, a poor long-term investment.
