I would say Yes...cause fact of the life is Business schools usually teach stuff based on past and today you have lot of stuff available on-line. Thus, one does not really need to go to a B-school for that information. But yes the premier B-school pass out will have better chance of getting the best break.. it is all about marketing and branding really. I know many would disagree with this view.. but tell me how many Business Leader we have today who can generate revenue without talking about cost reduction, outsourcing etc. Of course incurring unwanted cost is not desirable for any Business, but it seems most of the Business leaders are left with only one strategy lower cost at any cost and try to show good figures on the Balance sheet to hang on to their positions. There are very few like Steve Jobs who came up with products like iPhone and re-defined the mobile handset industry. Apple proved that Mobile phone industry is not all about producing cheap handsets. So bottom line is their are only few Business Leaders and rest are just paid employees following set of rules and copying trends from others... and hence does not matter which B-school it is Indian or any other.. it all boils down to an individuals intelligence.

Yes. It is not I.I.M alone even I.S.B HYDERABAD which stands / holds 13th position in overall rating among the best business institutes in the globe is sufficient enough to prove. And more over our P.M has made a request to I.S.B to have its second institute in Punjab

I can not agree that indian buisness schools are at par international standard. The indians who are internationally successful have earned recognition from foreign institues rather than to depend on indian degree only. All indian institutes are not like IIMs.

They need not be. This question was in mind for a long time. The business school phenomena or international b-shools are not there in Japan; but it has occupied great heights in economic growth;the question is should we compare ourselves with b-schools with long histories? B-Schools in India could write or work on business cases only from 1990's when there is liberalization. It is hardly a 20-15 year phenomena. Now with this how could you judge Indian business education, teachers or institutions? We are yet to evolve. While this is one dimension of argument. The other dimension is why to compare ourselves with International Business schools. We thought the world what is an university at Nalanda. We will develop our own models. We will create our own way of living. If you have an international standard, then we will have no Gandhiji. We will make our own destiny rather than having someone set standards for us.

The premier Institutes like IIM,IIT,IMA,IISC etc has the cream of people selected from India. And it is , no doubt, that they are no way inferior to any International Schools. Moreover, govt of India ensured adequate facility to impart the quality of education theoretically & practically. To maintain the standards, these Institutes always has , collaborative lectures, workshops, seminars, conferences etc from experts from external countries also. These Institutes, not merely, offer degrees to students but also, stands vouches the National Talents. So, we can not underestimate these. At the same time, we can not undermine Universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Yale, Princeton, etc. The color of these Institutes reflects the mass aspirations. Meaningless to say that degrees are inferior at one place & superior at other place. It is the opportunity, environment, utilization, performance measurement multiply its function manifold. One failed here may be successful in other place & vice verse.

It is not, secondly quality aspect reflects on the quantity you see, the product is totally raw as compared to others, Last but not the least, Indian are traditionally very strong with their age old convictions and philosophy, It is very orthodox in culture, system cannot be changed until and unless it is looked into from long term sturdy point of view, we cannot achieve the best of the best from the institutes we are looking at, IIMs and IIT is acedemically driven with not much of economy associated with it. They do produce the best under the indian conditions, but adaptability is not there as expected.

The condition is similar to all other systems that run in India. All are 3rd rated and 3rd standard. They are only world class in one matter... asking for fees/money.

Indian Business schools lacks in research and good faculty as compared to international institutes. There is dearth of good faculty in all institutes of repute and academia is failed to attract talent to teach in these colleges. Another point is that there is mismatch between industry demands and college inputs in Indian business schools.
