Wherever environmental conditions are similar to that of India, Indian innovations can work. There are a few instances when Indian products and services have proven to be relevant to some African countries. But compared to the innovations engendered in the western context, Indian innovative products have yet to create wider acceptance.

Our India has a long and distinguished tradition in science and technology from ancient times too ( can we forget the numeral "Zero" which our ancestors had given to the world )Indian innovations have a mark of creativity intuitivness blended with technical excellence which gives them a place globally. For example TePP ( Technopreneur Promotion Programme )a Dept of Science and Industrial Research initiative helped a chandigarh based biochemist Dr Parikshit Bansal in developing and patenting a laboratory dialysis device (technologically superior to existing products at a fraction of the cost..http://www.dsir.gov.in/pubs/tepp_enews/teppenews_1002.pdf ).Another Indian Innovator, Pranav Mistry's sixth sense technology is making waves in the technoworld ( http://www.pranavmistry.com/projects/sixthsense/ )..Hello World!..The Indian innovator has arrived.

No, they are absolutely irrelevant, outdated and we hardly innovate, except for copying.

When it comes to the relevance of innovations in India it can be seen form the recent economic and social growth of India  that there is a pretty good record of innovation  in various fields making  it a world focus for investment in innovation across a broad spectrum of industries. Let it be the R&D in IT or nanotechnology or chemicals etc. The inward investment of the western countries in recent years can be taken into account for implying that India being poor in few aspects still the Low-cost base of science and technology, the massive human power stand as the major attractions indicating the acceptance of the innovations by the rest of the world in one or the other way yet enabling new challenges to be taken up with  greater responsibilities in  striving the competition.

I think the title centers around the question of if Indian innovations are applicable or relevant to the West. Here is a different way to think about it- Western high consumer culture may look down on simple inexpensive innovations made from insight and creativity in the lives of poor people in India. Perhaps some of those innovations are out of context for the rest of the world. But maybe the West is not the final destination of these innovations... but may Specifically other countries and communities in the developing world.
