Our education system is such that expects us to be book worm and we have been brought up in a very conservative and closeted environment where latent talent and thinking out of box are not taught. Then, how can we expect them to be innovative. They would obviously try to imitative what others have done, locally or internationally!

Hello Namrata, Yes. It is true. You cannot blame our Engineers, students and scholars. We should blame our college, Enterpriser and the Industry in general. The reason behind this, they dint invest in R & D and new Technology. Unless you support and encourage the talent, innovation will be difficult. Still we are better in some areas. K Rajagopalan.

The companies that treat innovation as a corporate process lose it in the long run. Innovation demands a green house of ideation that can best be monitored, not controlled. Most Indian companies fall short in this area.

I agree with Namrata on the suject. One should be thorough on the entire start up process and only by arranging funds should think rest of the things will be done by others. Should take prctical route sucess will autometically be acheived. The one who feels shortcuts will help they will never accheive success.

yes... and no... most Indian start-ups are lacking innovation. but there are some out there who have innovative ideas and don't get any support from sponsors because their ideas seem too farfetched. it is not fair to generalize the new entrepreneur by saying that he lacks innovation. what our innovators lack now a days are funds... and those whose projects are accepted... are unfortunately based on tried and tested models and thus... can be safely said... copied.

Yes but its not there fault but its the fault of education system. From our childhood everybody( teachers , family ) stress on cramming the things and score as much marks as we can, they don't see the qualities and the limits of the child and most importantly the interest of the child..

No, I dont feel Indian Start Up lack Innovation, they do have ideas. As per my analysis or to the extent which i know the only thing which stops them is firstly FEAR OF FAILURE and secondly INDIAN CONSUMER SPENDING let it be companies or individual, we indian still prefer purchasing tried and tested over something new, we still prefer walking horizontally rather being vertical, and lastly the MENTAL BLOCKAGE we are applauded and the decision is called sensible if we opt for brand over new entrant and if vice versa 10 people will have 10 views.
