Leaders are BORN! There are soem basic qualities that you can see in a person from his growing days and thats what makes his mentors look at the child differently. Preferential treatment is obvious and then you groom such people to become leaders! Quality to lead is in born but eventually to get the TAG of being a leader is earned in the big bad world! You need to prove your qualities to get that tag!! What I want to ask here is that just because a rookie has the power to bring back the dead on a chess board have we been able to name it a knight??? A Knight remains one and a rookie remains one thats because the qualities that both posses are completely different in its attributes and its understood intelligence. Its the case of Sachin Tendulkar. He is an amazing player, has all the qualities of being the numero uno in his field of expertise but is he a good captain?? In case of Dada, he too has qualities of a great sportsman, but he had what it took to lead and his equation as a captain shows it!! Leaders are BORN! Gandhiji was not groomed to be a leader, he chose to lead by taking the nitiative and he did it!!

I personally think that leaders are BORN n NOT MADE.A leader has sum in built quality which can not be taught. One can teach you how to speak, how to tackle but no one can teach you how to be unique amongs other so that others follow n listen to you just not because u are their leader but with respect n affection. A Born leader has something special in them. there way of communication n handling situations etc.Somethings comes naturally, and natural things are the best.

I agree that Leaders are Born, as they have the easy access like being from the particular family, it is always easy for them to follow the same path that all the great leaders as their elders had set as an example, and at times situation also plays one to take responsible and be a leader and lead the way, but most of them are born as leaders...

"Some men are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them". Same goes for some leaders they are born in a family of where the dynasty is passed down and it is expected that they will perform even better than the previous leaders. However, in the Indian context I think I am aware that India is a democratic country and as such elections are carried out and a government is formed based on who is adjudged the winner whether by majority or by colaition. A person does not make himself a leader , so if by chance a leader who is selected comes from a family of leaders then there is two reasons for this (1) the people want him there and (2) it is by mere coincidence he has attained that position.

Although this may sound pessimistic or a trite politically incorrect, strong leaders are surely born. Buddha, Mahaveer, Ashoka, Vikramaditya, Krishna Deva Raya, Churchil, Ambani, Lok Manya Tilak, Sunil Mittal, and so on - had/have leadership in their genes - so as to say. OH! YES!! MANAGERS CAN BE MADE - but pure strong leaders - it requires a lot more than making - the leadership 'bread' should be there in the person! www.pharmaceuticalshealthcare.blogspot.com

Leaders are made not born. When a new born baby step into the world his mind is totally blank. When he see the things around, he start interect with it . New born or a small plant are same the more u feed the more they grow . So, tomorrow's leader is today's baby. Depends on us how to mould and give a good shape that decide the leadership of the baby.

ANY ONE WILL BE THE LEADER ONLY THROUGH HARD WORK Leaders are to come from people, not from their parents. nobody is born miracle persons only in some exceptional cases . leaders should born not from parents, from people, it would be possible only if/she creates awareness in any field through creativity or any leader ship qualities BY MAKING HIS/HER STEP AS FRONT STONE. so always leaders are made by the people around them, by seeing their leadership qulities.

No matter there are cases are Dhirubhai Ambani who was born leader but that doesn't mean every one can't be like him, proper training and mental strength is only thing required or else MBA colleges would not have been there. Even a man like Ambani failed so many times in his early days.He learned from his mistakes.Thats called "EXPERIENCE" which is necessary in every field. In the same way, a fresh MBA graduate takes training under professionals, gains experience and slowly becomes successful in his life.

I believe that people who comes under influence of leaders, becomes leaders! All are born, but few are made.. and that few are those who came under the exposure of such activites. It happens by choice.. For others, they are Born leaders..! somewhat like Grapes are sour!

very much hard fact - leaders are made. leadership is just nothing but the person who can sell him/herself well is a good leader. as everyone in this world is a sales person but the skills and training are the only things which can make him/her as leader.

HAHAHA very big joke. Gone are those days leaders were born. Now-a-days leaders are made by the rowdies & corruptions, for the rowdies and corruptions and finally of the rowdies and corruption (simple definition of democracy). If one has become a leader in this country, he must have two or more wives, must be involved in rape cases, murders, hooliganism, mask thief, etc.etc., This is the shortcut for becoming a leader. Hope you can now understand leaders of the present day are only made not born. the leaders who born in the yester years had gone.

Leaders are borned, but most of the leaders have come up by hard & smart work. Mister Gandhi was not a leader, by profession he was lawyer. But he turned to a successful leader bcz of his dedication & hard work. He has never given a long speech to get attrection of croud, he just do what was in favour of public and he become father of nation. And there are many more. And there are many more,

leadership is something which everyone can learn.for example people born in families of leaders learn a great deal of leadership qualities without much efforts because they see it everyday and for them it is possible. those who are not born in families of leaders have to learn it hard way. leadership is socialising, leadership is to be there with people when they need you.leadership is being in a position to spent your time for others.leadership is so much about giving then taking.so you shoul dbe in a position to give. leadership is there in all aspects of our lives..so everyone is a leader in there own way may be just a bit but everyone has those qualities, few are polished leaders..others are to be leaders or do not exert there leadership qualities.if you are leading a family you are a leader in some way.if you are leading a team you are a leader in some way.there is this qualities within us we need to be aware of it.

when a child is conceived in the womb of the mother those 9 months , i am repeating these 9 months matter a lot. the birth of a leader is planned well before conception , he is eventually trained in the womb and later on during the formative years. thereafter its brains software is tested in the market, and some survive and become great leaders and some just crash during the test run.

Most leaders come to the fore due to a situation or a critical problem affecting a large mass. Gandhi would never have been a Mahatma + Gandhi had he not been thrown out the train in South Africa. What IF Christ decided to double cross the CROSS ? What if the saint never saw the old people, the funeral. What if US did not slavery around the mid 1800s ? - Lincoln would have still been a would have been President fighting for a Fifth term. In India, Jaiprakash Narayan became acknowedged a leader only after he cross 80, and that too due to the Emergency ! Datta Samant was a Doctor. Nehru did just what Shah Rukh did. Stuck on to Gandhi and the Congress - like sticking onto the Chopras and a particular imagery about his persona. The classes he already had in the INC, the masses he got by hanging around Gandhi. The luck factor where all the Freedom fighters died by 1950 helped. So those out there, Name any leader - I am the eternal IconoClast :-))). It is just a matter of scratching history a little deeper than what you are told or presented in your classroom ... After all, there is an Opposition leader as well ...

How can leaders be born, leaders are made, even if they are born from a family of past leaders, untill and unless he is pushed to take up that, so leaders are made in due course of time or some situations lead to take leadership during some point of time in his or her life, so according to me leaders are made and not born...

Leaders are made and the defining qualities in aleader are 1. Having a clear vision and mission of the Aim objective and goal 2. Being passionate about it 3. Ability to convey the Aim Objective Goal down the line 4. Be enthusiatic and also act as a source of motivation by leading from the front 5. Be ethical, transparent and balanced in his approach to decision making One can be born with a silver spoon but that does not act as guarantee of being a strong successful leader inspite of being in an advantageous position, but by possessing such qualities one can make a mark for oneself and surely become a leader on his/her own right. Examples of great leaders Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, Margaret Thatcher, Lala bahadur Shastri, Biju Patnaik, Narayanmurthy, Sunil Mittal, L N Mittal etc.... Well my guess about the genes of these people is as good as yours that is they have etched out a path for themselves as great leaders.

I have always believed that leaders emerge given a situation. There is some thing deep within them that compels them to take charge and act. They have a deep self belief and a commitment to the cause they espouse. They are willing to gamble their very existence for their beliefs. They are great motivators and are capable if inspiring the masses to their cause.
Can a person who has inherited "leadership" display the same traits? I think not.
