This so really true and disappointing. As i did mba from states and came back due to recession. When i started looking for job i realise that what i am getting is only sales job. Though i am very much rigid as i never wanted to be in sales and i am having hard time finding a job. People say that as a fresher there is no problem starting your career with sales but once if you are into sales it is very hard to switch to other profile i believe.

It perhaps depends on the specialization as well. If you have done MBA in HR you won't get a sales job. In marketing and Finance such situations occur. But they should understand that intially it is necessary to have knowledge about sales is also important , after getting some experience they can jump to other jobs or usually they are promoted to other designations.

Very true. Fresh MBAs from most business schools are given sales job. Only IIM graduates are treated differently and  selected for the management operations. This is disappointing for a fresher because they look forward to apply their knowledge so assiduously earned by them. Their talents are misused for  canvassing for the product and picking orders from the market. The academic potentiality remains unused which could have well applied for strategic planning and innovative thinking. But, nevertheless, even having a sales job could be a stepping stone for a well achieving career once the fresher keeps patience and  apply his talent for innovative results.

Job rotation is must for MBAs so that they will have hands-on experience of every function. Wherever you go, you have to carve a niche, handle tough challenges, convert every hurdle into opportunity, you make a mark in other functional areas, as well!

Corporate can do something only if institutions work on the practical aspect of thing, rather than remaining only theoretical and giving no knowledge on the practical aspect of things.
