Its true that We fiercely reject anything western but later we will accept those thoughts and implement them in our country too. Despite adopting their culture and technology, we always forget to respect them when they come to our country as tourists. In fact that is the saddest part of it. I think as a society we have shown great maturity in following the parts of western lifestyle and culture that suits us best. We, except for sections do not have horses blinkers while dealing with foreign influence. However the growing intolerance from certain sections of the society is disappointing.

We are already overly west-inclined thanks to years of English rule and the unchanged governance methods even thereafter.

Do we know as much about our own national history, culture and heritage is the question that is much more relevant.

India - A place where you can taste a mix juice of tradition. western people come here to explore traditions and They like our tradition. Indians are versatile they are capable to adopt good things of western world, what is wrong is in tradition should be change and Indians are doing that.

We have been the inheritors of British policies and law. So we have by default already accepted something from the western world. Yes, now it is time to make our own road but that road is not going be constructed by Indians alone. It would be a road constructed by Indians with aid from everyone including the western world, simply because, we are now all inter-connected and nothing can be 100% Indian or 100% Western.

But, if we are to be given an option to take anything western, be it branded clothes or products, we would certainly weigh the pros and cons given our skill pool to manufacture the same. But why not, if we lack the skilled resources to get the same. Importing anything western - product, service or otherwise - would benefit us as well, if we begin to re-engineer the same and make the same in a different way that is more economical and beneficial to the society. So why not, nothing wrong in accepting anything from the west. After all, we have created mixed economy - an hybrid of socialist and capitalist. We are good enough to create many more such hybrids.

I think that the new generation is very savvy given their exposure. Make no mistake in this age of communication empowerment, no society can really hope to isolate itself.

Yes there is a growing tendency to oppose anything western. But that is from the fringes of the Indian society. By and large we do accept and amalgamate the positive of other cultures.

And that has been the greatness of Indian society. For anybody or any society that refuses to accept other viewpoints will cease to grow and become stagnant, eventually leading to its death.
