Mr.Dheerendra i would agree with you.....we are in one way or another competing with ourselves and that can be seen from the fact that various IT companies are vying for the same contracts. In a way its good because there will be improvement in the quality of service but on the other hand we are cutting out each other, instead we should compete globally and try to gain competive advantage over foreign companies which will go a long way in taking our companies to the highest level.

Hi, I agree with you and Rajdeep, but why our clients prefer us? is it just our ability? no, In business revolves around money, I am not against our capabilities, but, money is a major factor as well. We are good, so we deserve better, I think we ourselves are under cutting our prices (TCS, INFY, WIPRO and others)..this is what I am trying to mean. We quote much lower than our non-Indian competitors...Only we under-cut the prices for our ownself to ensure that one of us get the deal, I am talking about the Indian IT/ITES organisations....Anyhow the client gets a better price & every deal we over commit...aren't we? End of the day we are the loosers (But, in reality we can get more, that's what I think)

Looking upon massive growth of this sector in India, in recent years shows not only that we are better but we are improving day after day . We are competing with each other, there should be competition but it should not go beyond limits. Industry body should issue guidelines , so that in place of competitors of our self's ,we should we coordinators. Co-ordination can achieve what competition can never.

We know that Indians deliver better, we also know that nobody is kind of close to us in the IT, ITES & BPO arena, still we kill eachother on prices (Indian firms). I hope I am right, if our IT oursourcing & BPOs can form a consortium to ensure not to undercut prices, I think we can deliver better and quality services to claim a premium, which will inturn improve our quality of training. But how? is another question.

Hi Guys The point of topic is here is very genric. "Are we Own Competitors"- Which Industry, Region, the answer is going to depend on it. The views posted by everyone is perfect, but like to put across my personal view, I firmly belive in the answer "no". Do not take me wrong. Just because we are snatching business from one other does not be competitors. The space is huge that why u see so many companies are benefiting today. The driving point is the differentiors. If u are going to have unique business model, key differentiors, focused specialised industry target, there is no such word as competitors. It is helping each company to perform more better whether it from internal in the country or external. If we Indians are sitting in the deals rooms to get a proposal across each other many times. That means we have a unique advantage at the moment of this time.

Taking into account the current scenario, India has its supremacy over its rivals in the BPO industry but there are a number of other countries which can give India run for its money in Business Process Outsourcing.
India's only competition the spanish language which is spoken in over 24 countries., it now needs just one other language that will make the world its market, which is Spanish. So India BPO should learn spanish language too...
The Philippines can give us a tought competition with its English educated work force and good telecom infrastructure, which is similar with American work culture and Spanish language.

I agree with Rajdeep...in such a cut throat competition you cannot expect that, the Indian economy is increasingly being integrated globally ,& IT/ITES in India are beginning to face increasing levels of global competition which will not allow them to take such steps....
