Fight against whom. Is it the Govt or Individuals or the Society enmass?.Do we have any established organization except, that the Anti corruption agency that helps you to eradicate it?. Is there any NGO's or Voluntary organisation that interfere with Individuals indulge in corruption? So, what you want to fight it out? On theme everybody says to fight. But, who is to bell the Cat?& how (the modus operandi) ?.We need to think about a system that can help us to, at-least, to reduce corruption. ORELSE , say, replace the word from dictionary by TOHFAA, GIFT, COMPLIMENTS, BAKSHEESH, PRESENT ,etc etc. I need to find a better word from various languages.Spirit is good to fight. But to act how?. I mean to say the machinary / infrastructure what we have to-day, is not sufficient to protect us from corruption & IS NOT MOTIVATING ANYBODY TO RESIST FROM CORRUPTING PEOPLE.

YES WE ARE HELPLESS... Its very shameful to say that, BUT to survive in this Corrupt World... We have to be a part of it. Im not at all saying Im comfortable... NO, but to keep alive & survive in order to keep your Family surviving, we have to be a part of this. To change this cannot be a ONE MAN JOB. It has to be MASS CAMPAIGN, which in today's time & era looks impossible. It would be very Noble to say " Lets Fight it " and it would be a " Feel Good Factor too "... BUT the hard fact is - IT IS IMPOSSIBLE unless the entire Society takes it up... TOGETHER ! Happy Debating Friends !

100 % I agree with my friend Vipin. Up to the explanation and thoughts it is ok but when it come to the real scenario on each individual definitely they will change their mind. I too experienced a lot. Once a time I hate this corruption and hated to be myself being a part of it, but as usually father is also a teacher and friend is a good well-wisher. They teach me how to deal and overcome from it. Now I am not wasting my time moving around and requesting to them.....who oppose this one I request them to just visit any government office.

Thats true. Be part of it, n remain cool. I'm talking practical. Can anyone claim I'm (who wish to fight) clean? I guess many of them will answer no? If we want to get something out from govt machinery, there is the only way of corruption to expedite the task/results. Else be ready to suffer mentally and time-wise too. If cop catches while jumping at traffic signal, we only offer the bribe? If we want to get admitted to a well-known school/college, we only show preparedness to pay the donation. So whenever there is a personal gain we discount ourselves. We offer bribes and expect the babus to be clean. And worst is want someone else should fight against corruption. Not fair. And more worst thing is, who affords to pay, shows attitude to buy someone's honesty. He proudly say, I'll get it done at any cost. So, accept it. Thanks Disha for referral.

SHOULD WE ? so if there is problem so definitely there must be some solutions...we just have to put the efforts to walk on the way rather than shouting for a Lift. be optimistic :-)

There is a long list of supporters to fight against corruption. I am also joining the queue. Up to this point, the subject is not problematic. But when it comes to being specific about the 'fight', it comes to the fore that it is not practical; it is not possible; it is not advisable and so on. That is so, because we have allowed corruption to give roots very deeply. We have not taken any step that is far-reaching and really effective. Booking a clerk for receiving Rs.50; arresting a revenue inspector on the basis of false complaint and then after tormenting him for years, releasing him, saying that the case is not proved; things like these cannot curb corruption. In the olden times, corruption was considered something bad. Before accepting a bribe of a small amount, the concerned official would hesitate a lot and would really feel bad. Nowadays, it is not like that. In Sub-registrar's office, the concerned clerk refers to her extra money, as 'fees'! In any organization the people at lower level are inspired and guided by the people at the top. What kind of political leadership we have got in this country? Are they noted for their intolerance towards corruption? They give emotional speeches on the totally useless subjects. Have any of them spoken with determination against corruption? Have any of them thrown challenges to bring corruption to zero level with a specific period? Why? Huge amounts running to billions are swallowed by top level people in private and public life. Simply nothing happens. People observe this. How do you expect them to behave? We should strike at corruption at top level. When a top level fellow in an organization stands humiliated and gets severely punished for corrupt practices, the lower level people would take their lessons. For this, the people who are really against corruption should first of all unite as a forum and create public opinion against corruption at all levels, especially at top levels. The forum should acquire a national standing and enlist the support of all the educated, decent and honest persons. When the next general election comes, the forum should announce that only that party which promises to achieve zero level corruption within a month, would get votes. The political parties should be forced to announce that they do not want the votes of criminals and corruption mongers. And, many things can be done by such a forum. If we eliminate corruption completely, many other problems would get solved automatically. It is only the taste of easy money and the opportunities to amass wealth attracts bad elements to the political fields. Once this is made impossible, they would go back.

Mr.Sachin, in my opinion corruption should not be supported/encouraged whatever ways it takes place. When givers are there, definitely there will be takers and this plight should be eradicated. The root cause for corruption is the desire/greediness to get the things done in a short period. Somebody gives corruption to get the things done fast or to change code of practice in one's favour or to bend the rules & regulations in favour of someone. This is due to the thinking that anything can be done with money.Once upon a time, as gesture of goodwill or hapiness it was used to provide as compliments to the peoples concerned who had done some favour/service to the beneficiaries. But now a days it is being demanded as in terms of particular percentage to get the things done from the officials.Further people are mentally corrupted which includes politicians, bureaucrats in all levels, private and public sector enterprises. Without giving money, nothing is moving ahead further. Now the question is how to ban or eradicate the corruption which is ruling and ruin our country. WHO WILL BELL THE CAT ? The time has to answer.

Dear Mr. Naushad , This helplessness is a way to justify one's disinclination to take a stand ! Consider cleanliness ; just because everyone in your street , all your neighbours , throw their garbage onto the street , instead of in the local garbage bin , will you also throw your garbage onto the street ? Let us not blame our own laziness on the fact that others are doing it , so if I don't do it , what good will it do ? Just because others in your office gossip , will you also do it ? We do undesirable things because we are not spirited enough or courageous enough or we have no motivation to stop doing them ; there are enough chain smokers who stop stop overnight , and never again touch a cigarette ; there are enough weak individuals who will give you enough reasons why they could not stop smoking ; which group would you like to be in ? There is no feel good factor in this ; one does good because that is the way one is ; probably it is upbringing , probably it is enlightenment ,... There are enough whistle-blowers who have paid for it with their lives ; why do they do it ? Because they feel good ?

Conversing precisely v are not really helpless, in this era of corruption since...v r ourselves responsible for letting them crush us...accepted by wat Mr.Naushad said...for family v all keep shut...but look at this at a gr8r aspect...v keep quiet now,den its sure dat our 2mrw is gonna be crushed 4ever..It's our basic rit..like for example dont v fight for the first seat in the train{local}...or rush in to see the first day first show at the mall...similarly in this case..be confident as vel as stern ven it comes to issues related with corruption. I do understand v all r corrupted to the core...and one of the simplest solutions to this would be,the defaulters must be punished severely as vel as the judgement must be immediate...i.e. the order must be effective ASAP. Also it must be made public so as to create a fear in the people's mind..to ensure non repetation of the same in the future.

Agree with you point it is our own selfish- trait, that forever prevents standing up and taking clear sides. While we want our selves to remain in comfort zone and enjoy all benefits without visiting the Que, most of us are critical when someone does the same to us. In fact people who refuse to take this piggy-ride are considered naive or fools by most "Practical Oriented". Most Indians live with duality in behavior and conduct therefore seldom practice what they preach. And this is more predominant a quality in classes that have the power and responsibility to arrest the decay. There is no helplessness with those who can differentiate a criminal from a respectable citizen. At best such informed persons, pity these sick individuals. Thanks for invite, Disha and Sachin,

NOT at all. All of us have the capability to fight the corrupt system. Lot of people have started speaking against the system, this has to just increase. I have seen numerous cases where things have gotten done without a single penny being paid. we just have to more aware about the laws around us which empower us and use them to our benefit. Also the Right to Information Act is a tremendous boost for the ordinary citizen, who call, literally, call the shots in many govt departments without moving an inch.

Dear Vipin, Ethics, Beliefs, Conduct and Convictions are one's own. I doubt they should bear any affect, simply because others are not agreeing or the shorter route is faster. Honesty is something that needs no certifications from anyone, it is for self practice and satisfaction. Thus it is simply question of being honest to self that I am not supporting or benefiting from it whatever others may choose and benefit. How far will carrying on with dual behavior take us or how costly its delayed realisation whenever, and if that happens, is anybody's guess and at best for each to assess.

In principal I think everyone supports your idea Disha Roy. But wishing it away is not going to help. The Govt and we need to analyse the causes of so much corruption in this country. What are the main reasons? First of all the poverty, hunger and lack of opportunity which influences a person to forget his scruples; this is aided and abetted by the runaway population. However much the GDP may increase, the per capita will remain low , because the wealth is getting distribted to too many heads.Second biggest handicap is the lack of will to fight the corruption. If you try you lose! So follow the adage that when in Rome act like a Roman; when in India be corrupt and your life gets smoothened!!We need more stringent laws , as in China, where corruption is seen as a very serious crime which can lead to a death penalty. In India a person can get away with a few years in prison and that also after years and years of litigation. Corruption needs to be treated as a special crime, in special courts so that punishment is quick and stringent. All should be treated equally whether a politician ,chief minister or a tradesman. In our country a powerful politician can get away with murder; so corruption is minorstuff! There are many more points, but this argument will become too long. Let us concentrate on reducing population and coming up with a very stringent anti-corruption law,to start with!!

It should be fought as far as possible but when things go out of our control then the pragmatic approach would be to adjust with the system because the time wasted in changing the system can be better utilized in something else which is our hand...The system of corruption is an attitudinal problem and has been observed since ages together. The best way to control it, is to ignore it when not in our hand... Many times bigger rackets become out of hands of the common people...

I am in agreement with Disha on the subject. At the same time I think we as a country have enough strength to change the module. I am of the openion that our Govt is working on the subject. But once again I will point out that there are fall outs of democracy and it will take time to chang the current senario as mentioned by Disha. Well corruption of course is a social vice, so has to be fight against. But basically it is more than an individual problem, it is systemic. So eradication of corruption needs system corrections. Social tolerance level of corruption has to bring down by concerted campaigns. Laws have to be streamlined and strengthened to deal with corruption. Bureaucratic red tapes have to bring down to more people-friendly level. This fight has many levels and aspects. Social, political, legal, psychological etc. So this fight must be a continuous process, which every society has to carry on with. In every organic society, generations has to fight this war, to make their society relatively better.

CORRUPTION IS AN EVIL WHICH SHOULD BE UPROOTED FROM ITS VERY BASE AND NO ONE INDIVIDUAL IS RESPONSIBLE FOR IT,SIMILARLY NO ONE INDIVIDUAL CAN ERASE IT.IT HAS TO BE GROUP EFFORT.IF WE ARE STATUS QUO AND BE A PART OF THE CORRUPTION MEASURE THEN WE WILL ALSO LIST OURSELVES IN THE SAME BANDWAGON..THE EVIL WILL BE MORE POWERFUL AND IT WILL ONE DAY TAKE OVER THE GOODNESS WHICH IS STILL RESIDING SOMEWHERE BUT GETTING LOST DUE TO THE PRESSURE OF CORRUPTION. ACTUALLY WE GIVE MORE LEADS TO CORRUPTED WAYS..IF WE ALL PROTEST AGAINST IT THEN THE AWARENESS WILL BE CREATED.MERE WRITING WILL PROVE NOTHING BUT IN EVERY CLASS, IN EVERY STRATA THIS AWARENESS SHOULD BE THERE AND IT IS NOT LIKE THAT RICH PEOPLE ARE GIVING WAY TO CORRUPTION AND POOR PEOPLE HAVE NO OTHER WAY THAN TO TOLERATE IT... SYSTEM, SOCIETY, CULTURE, SHOULD REALISE THAT CORRUPTION IS THE EVIL WHICH IS SLOWLY BUT STEADILY GROWING IN PACE IN EVERY FIELD BE IT EDUCATION, BE IT POLITICS, BE IT CAREER, OR BE IT THE VERY OWN COMMUNITY...SO WE HAVE TO PROTEST AND CLOSE THE DOORS TOGETHER TO SHUT THIS EVIL FROM PENETRATING US....

do not be a part of it as there is such a lot of COMPETITION among corrupts that market is over crowded and just wait and a gang war is breaking amongst them. Even corrupts are so fed up and fearful that they too wish to find good guys to be with. The media coverage and communication catches them red handed and almost each and every sin is exposed. It may not be well circulated fact, but the signs of change are quite visible and u can see fall of great nations one by one and simmering fire of hate amongst them is not a stoppable phenomena but shall keep on jerking them for very long time. the cause of all this might be attributed towards the involvement of all these nations in acts of cruelty against humanity, hatred of caste and creed and enjoying luxaries at the cost of poors. i think that all these amount to corruption as all this was done for profit. since every thing is well exposed to every one hence i do not name any one, u know it 2.At such tremendous hour of transition u are advised to favour good for good.

corruption being one of the most deep rooted sin of our society requires a great deal of effort to remove it thoroughly. it wont be like our regular coffee but demands of us to go out of the way to achieve a corruption free society..and we truly have the guts even to decide that we want to fight against it, we should also be prepared to face dire consequences, given the high shot people and leaders involved in it. if we get united in this noble mission and we are determined to work it out, we surely can! but it calls for patience..

corruption is because we are corrupt and those who are not being corrupt are forced to be part of it. and this can be avoided if we together join hands and make an anti-corruption community and members of this community will be from different fields. also rewards should be given if any member of this community catch any one red handed. e.g- if any member found someone briving then that corrupt person should be arrested also the property should be ceased temporarily untill trial under fast-track court. the brivary amount will be the reward for the anti-corruption community.

The concept of corruption is closely linked with the system and the environment. If the system (power, links, etc.) allows it and the environment supports it, then corruption will continue to permeate throughout society. In order to reduce or eliminate corruption, the system should not support it and the environment should not allow it to propagate. This is the only way we can reduce/eliminate corruption........

Easy life is everyone dream. If life is not so easy we try to make it easy and that is where shortcuts and easy ways of doing things come in. I believe the fight against corruption has to start with self. If some of us resolve today that we shall not be a party to corruption or try the difficult way before we fall a prey to the easier one, and we do this each and every time we are presented with a opportunity of this choice.Slowly we shall see a change in self. Also resolve to recruit a few more individuals into this philosophy every time we are able to solve things ethically. This could lay the foundation for the problem getting solved over a period of time. This will also address not loosing ones life or livelihood.
