It would have been much better had Britishers continue to rule is what many of us think.

Yeah, actually we Indians should contribute towards our own country and it's economic development rather than working for/in foreign countries. Indians in general are greedy and for money and more money...actually dollars and pounds and craze about foreign products had made India a bit westernized but actually all they...Americans/Australians hate us Indians which made highlights in News every now and then lately due to reasons known to everybody. Though we Indians love AMERICA, CANADA, BRITAIN AND AUSTRALIA. Don't know yet...why after-all? Why can't we love our country? India is enriched with it's own culture which is totally different and better than all these western countries or even Australia. Why can't we strive and thrive to make India in a better state rather than being ruled by such Western influences?

Yes,to certain extent. The concept brought by foreigners are still in practice. We need to make rational changes (in them) to match with the present need of time.

i feel indians are still after 60 yrs under british rules. reason is simple every one including doctors engineers, and many other professionals with huge talents and skills thrive to work for foreign country and keep ready with passport immediatly after plus 2 how may of us work late nights in BPO and call center jobs to finish their deadlines ? we cant cheat our self consiousness we may argure thats its our talent and education thats attracting developed countries towars us ,but are they not luring us with more salary and incentive packages? they are to us because its workouts to be cheep here with good quality the same principle admitted many years ago with foreign traders ruling indians.indian youths should wake up work for our country let them beg us to get their jobs done and pay more then market to us orelse time is not far when we see foreigners working here and we under them as servents

My cousin brother told me once , you ask a stupid question , you would get 10 different stupid answers, Dude why would anyone rule anyone , it all depends on yourself, are you independent or getting ruled by someone -- make your own choice

We are not ruled by foreigners. The policy of opening up the economy, inflow of foreign goods & commodities, and the craziness towards western countries are existing through out the world. This needs some course correction in a appropriate way. We need some revolution to set right the things. Thanks for the referral Mr.Deepak Kabul.

colonisation just because there are more vegetables and fast food joints? this is only an entrenched fear of anything new in ourselves that we oppose it. and historically, the shopkeeper english came at a time when india was politically in ruins, no govt. you can not compare 17th century with 21st and can not and should not complain about all types of "jokers and johnnies". cos we are also part of the same group when we go abroad and set up business or buy the existing ones. examples include tata(corus), airtel(zain), venkys(blackburn) to name a few. what you speak about sounds a typical communist rant about capitalism and it's evils. we all know how much our country sufferred under our socialist delusions and we should not go down that path again ever
