In a recent survey that was done by a major university it said that women may be better suited to handle sales positions than their male counterparts, the studies showed that some females have better selling skills. Many women are more nurturing, have stronger listening skills and empathize better than males.  And in sales, one has to be really people oriented, where one has to listen and understand the client's wants and needs, and if they can empathize with what they are going through, you are going to do well in sales, and in this case women are generally better at that than most of the male counterparts.  So what do you think on this, do share your views on this.....

According to me, i guess yes now a days various organizations are increasingly opting for female workforce in the sales department than men, and this trend is catching up everywhere, even in the IT also you see more and more females in the sales positions than men, this the trend that is happening all over the world and across various industries, so yes women are transforming sales position towards their dominance or the sales position is evolving more towards females than men.

I seriously doubt it, the sales was done by men and it will be much more efficiently done by men than women and though they are sharing the sales jobs with men but it is not the dominant position for women as you are saying, so men are the one's who are more into sales than women, and i don't agree with this topic with you raji.

Definitely women has upper hand coz of various reason. Most of the male who are in sales, try to sale product and not try to build relationship. Selling a product make one time customer, making relationship help in building a client. A life-long relationship.

By nature women are more caring, polite & humble. Men learns on his power & ego. Check at home, most of the kids are closer to their mother compared to their father. Mother sells her value & ehtics more to a kid than a father.

But one thing which differentiates between an average salesperson and a great salesperson and that is Learning. As a humn being, we overcome on most of our issues by learning and implementing the correct & continoul growth action.

Leave your ego behind, great path of success in any area is in front of you (applied for both male/female).

This is very true and effective, especially in organizations that pursue aggressive upfront sales tactics like FMCG, companies like JustDial and NGO's.

1) Women have this amazing ability to be very aggressive, but, the person in front never feels that aggression. If you come across an aggressive sales(wo)man, you will most likely be more offended by the man, because women have a sophisticated way of being aggressive. Organizations have begun to realize this and are harnessing this quality.

2) Men have to work doubly hard to make a first impression. In fast paced sales environments where, where all you have is a few seconds to make that first impression, women clearly have the edge. This is because most Indian men are not groomed well socially.
