These days, a new trend has come into the market. The business of Tele Astros fortune telling where 80% of the callers use the 24x7 astrology services via mobile phones. Online astrology sites are getting into language preferences. Being a big market advantage in the online business, the entire suite of Astro services existing on the English version are now available in Hindi and other regional languages. This includes Live phone advice, vedic astrology services, palmistry, life prediction, career prediction, love horoscope, health forecasts, Janam Patrika, match making and a lot more.

With Value Added Service (VAS) providers and mobile operators experiencing a boom in India, several astrologers now reside in call centres based across the country. The premium call rates being around Rs. 7 per minute, thousands of call are being answered everyday and apparently, these fortunetellers are given special call-centric communication training, for they answer endless queries of several advice questers each day. Queries starting from business and compatibility, range till Feng Shui, Vaastu and stock market troubles. They not only get trained like normal call centre employees, but also do they appear for regular tests. Thier wages vary between Rs 6,000 and Rs 13,000 a month depending on their tenure.So much that they also have incentives for consistent number of calls.

Astrology services become revenue genrating though they are premium to common audience. I do not think it is the TOP VAS service amongst the others;but it is also one of the fastly growing VAS services in India. With the rumors like '2012 is the end' in place, these services are getting popular now a days

yes,Indeed,Astrology is really huge revenue generating for mobile operators but you know the call centers who are providing their services r just cheating customer...as a call center trainer n & celebrity Astrologeri have a very close experience...these call centers r just blackmailing peoples who call for their astrological help...only to sell their articles n goods...which is very bad n spoiling the name of Astrology n Spiritualism & no body is bother about that n no body is there to take care of that..

Wow! Some serious business going on in there, isn’t it? This certainly poses as a real opportunity for business partnership to build up on such milestones. The astrology market in India is of 40,000 crore whose large part of audiences are online. Over 60% of the revenues come from the mobile route and the rest through the portal. All these clearly shows astrology is a top VAS service for telecom providers these days.

Value-added services required strong partners to move forward and the bond with this astro-tele link was in its seventh year. But that much revenue will not be there in the long run. With so many fake astro sites in the net, very few people exist there. Majority of them are losing interest from these sites. These sites are popular only in countries like India. Not in the entire world that too with a very less user base. Telecom providers know this very well and they must be having some other source of revenue generation. With all this, we cannot say VAS service is the only medium for revenue generation for telecom service providers.
