Recently, the Australian cricketers have clashed with skipper Ricky Ponting during the meeting held at a Sydney hotel to brief them about security during the Twenty20 tournament. The conflict occured on the topic of whether to attend next month's IPL tournament saw Australian players attacking each other during a security briefing.

And also we are seeing trends like player quitting test cricket and ODI's just because they need to stay fit for IPL matches as it brings them millions of dollars money. Though young players may not feel the compulsion to play in IPL for money but for people like sehwag, flintoff who have very less  years left in them for international cricket makes them choose either ways.

So users, as we can see, these days, players are preferring matches like IPL more than national games like Test matches & ODI's just because IPL matches gives more money, Is IPL making players choose money over country?

I think yes. IPL matches are making players prefer money over country as we can see, its all because of money that players are opting for matches like IPL, where players from different countries play together in a team against each other, more than national games like one day matches or test cricket where, players of one country play together in a team. All this is because, IPL matches pay more money than one day or test matches.

What the hell a simple cricket match has to do with nationality? Cricket is just a game and any player plays for money. He will play for whatever pays him more. How can we question their patriotism just because of this small reason??

Players are giving more importance to money , even if they are not fit they are playing IPL  and they are moving out of  T 20 world cup

Dear Varunsangani.

T-20 does not and would never improve the training and learning of a budding cricketer rather the quick money may erode the development and encourage towards looking for endorsements which as well may only last till glory of last feat can continue and get repeated ......thereafter it is sans both learning and money.

Yes i am also supporting it because player like flintoff says that they will play only t-20 that somehow shows that they are running towards money.

NO, more importantly its giving the younger generation of domestic cricketers a taste of international level of playing and competition  and when talking about players like sehwag and flintoff, well then they have already shown their passion for playing for country and now if they have very less numbh of cricketing years left in them, then let them have the pleasure of earning thru their play, bcoz after all , after their retirement we are not supporing their life's.

note: i agree their earnings thru sponsers/ipl's/adds/fashion shows'etc.. but not by match fixing.

u r right Himanshu, game has nothing to do with nationality.but if u r representing ur country on any account, country should become first priority and all others next including money. if we look at IPL,one should note that it is programmed in such a way that it will not hamper any country's interest in any way.
