When we need any information we turn to search engines. Toping the list is Google. Foursquare a location sharing device awards badges for repeat check-ins to different places. Google has launched it in US . the badges are private by default which can be made public. There are more than 500 badges available to suit all types of interest, such as 'stock market', 'Harry Potter' and US elections.

There is nothing new in this. Google is know for innovations and it should have come out with something new instead of this. Using existing things is not the Google way is it.. Again I am not sure that people will read news from google for badges.

It doenst make much difference whether they hand out badges or not ! When you need information, u just need to get it quick. Thats all matters.

ITS AN ANOTHER WAY TO CATCH EYEBALLS TOWARDS GOOGLE.

IF A PERSON HAS GOOGLE ACCOUNT THEN HE/SHE CAN EARN THE BADGES AND IT WILL APPROXIMATELY TAKE ONE WEEK TO REACH "ULTIMATE LEVEL", BECAUSE IT HAS 4 LEVELS SILVER, GOLD, PLATINUM AND ULTIMATE. GOOGLE BADGES VISIBLE TO A PERSON WHO WINS THESE BADGES, BUT ONE HAS TO MAKE IT VISIBLE BY CONFIGURING GOOGLE WEB HISTORY, SO THAT EVERYONE CAN VIEW THE BADGES AND IN THE SAME WAY, ONE CAN LET THE FRIENDS KNOW THAT WHAT KIND OF NEWS HE/SHE READS.

THOSE WHO PREFER ONLINE NEWS CAN GRAB THESE BADGES.
