Idea sounds good.. but it isn't as simple.. Petrol prices are at all time high because of the demand-supply ratio problem but banning so many vehicles also wont be feasible.. Plus this process might not be efficient and will take a lot of time and will cost us.. (one more step to loss of revenue)

Although going by the available laws it is not supposed to go by this way but for those resources which is limited should must have the some kind of guidelines for per person allowed level of vehicle as well the level of minimum mileage as it is for holding the land in many of the states so that every one have the at least minimum requirement fulfilled. In opposition some may come with that if the vehicle is meeting the emission level why should we go for that? But I in response have the valid answer that the transportation need is also going to be one of the most required need of todays life and road transportation is mostly supported by hydrocarbon fuel so there must have the guideline for maximum non of vehicle a person can have as well the minimum mileage of the different segment of the vehicle.

I would say Yes. when people are ready to spend money on cars which gives 1 km for 1 liter. why should the petroleum companies reduce their price. When the demand is less the price would automatically come down. Note: No offense on Automobile Industry!!!

Ms Farah, you have got it right,

actually its but obvious situation that how banning those vehicle could lower down the petrol prices, that means you are talking about banning , Honda's, suzuki's, Yamaha's, ducati's etc's superbikes, which will lead to sudden down fall to these companies and these are leading industries in the world which will automatically crash the whole market,

how one can think for this option or relate this option to lowering of prices of petrol,(In present scenario's)

this option can only be implemented in slow and gradual process ( transformation) where globally it should be accepted and for that people should be well aware of the things that why we are all doing this,
