This is really a great thought. I totally agree with having finance as a subject in school curriculum. We need finance in every walk of our life. Infact it is inter-linked with all fields of knowledge. So having basics right from the school would help one to manage his/her money effectively.

now a days life and finance are two aspects which keeps things going as planned, Most of the things which are taught in schools are irrevelent in life for example history in paleolithik age etc but finance does matter right from birth to death of a person, therfore should be surely taught in school....... good idea....Cheers!!

Finance is present in all the fields be it biotech, cement, engineering, infrastructure, etc. For any business finance is the lifeline for its working and day to day expenses. Cost and revenue attached to the business are all related to finance and proper management of finance is important for the business to operate it in a better way. So nowadays finance is an important part of our life so it is necessary to include the subject of finance in the study curriculum so that atleast everyone should know the basics of finance.

Savings, money, growth, personal finance etc. are good topics of study. These are to be taught in primary levels, at least at 10th std. as said by Mr. Padmanabhan. For a personal growth financial independance is important and foundation level knowledge makes much difference. Today we see some students spend lavishly in school/ college levels, which depicts the lack of this knowledge. Basics of financial management should be in school curriculum.

yaa we teach all sought of things in school which is practically of no use once we come out of schools.with bloated egos that we are educated.everyone need to have a basic knowledge of managing finances.if everyone is a expert in managing finances what and how would a finance graduate like you would earn.why would someone pay for your skills.so schools do not teach you how to earn.and how to spend well.and how to leverage your cash.how to manage your loans.it is the school of life which would force you to learn that and if not pay for people like you to manage the finances. our sylabus is outdated.they are not putting student to use the latest gadgets.the old style old teachers do not encourage the use of computers.when th eentire world is going and using latest gadgets and technology.you would still find parents and teachers finding fault with the use of technology to improve skills, and enhance productivity.when you come out of schools you are left with haveing very little material which is of use to you. except for the language you learn...the rest of the things are so out dated.you would have to learn to learn and implement things on your own.and treat schools as a place were you learn to cohabit with others, were you learn to divide you time in to periods.were you are learning to work hard.were you are learning to have goals.were you are learning to finish a task in a certain time span.were you are learning to make friends.were you are leraningto travel to school each day.were you are learning to habituate your self to a style of doing the same thing for years together.were you are learning to play.
