Technology does have its benefits and its disadvantages. It all depends on what it's used for & how it's used. ~Management Consulting Services: www.CEOBusinessManagementSolutions.com

Well in childhood we surely learn or write about an easy that was very popular at that time was merits and demerits of science which is now replaced by the merits and demerits of technologies. Everything has its own merits and demerits, either science or human. And we have to accept both. try to reduce the demerits and increase the merits is the only work that can be done.

TECHNOLOGIES DO HAVE BOTH MERITS AND DEMERITS. IT COMPLETELY DEPENDS ON A PERSON HOW HE/SHE UTILIZES IT. TECHNOLOGIES HAVE HAD DIFFERENT PERCEPTIONS SINCE IT CAME INTO EXISTENCE.

Yes and No it depends on the mindset of one. Take the case of internet. There are so many good things being put up on the net by enterprising people and at the same time there are so many bad things also put up by net users. Access to internet is both good and bad. There are ethical users/progammers/web developers/hackers and so on. Similarly there are unethical/criminal/virus spreaders/hackers and so on. One can get access to good things and also bad things. One can get access to constructive knowledge and also destructive knowledge. The net users should know how to take advantage of the knowledge available for their own development.

It is clear that technology does allow mankind to "do more with less" and it seems we are continuing to develop at a faster and faster pace. However we also need to review the consequences and implications of the utilization of that technology. For example if you consider the idea of "singularity" - can we advance so far so fast in technology that we fragment our society into two parts - those who understand it and utilize it to improve their lives, and the others who do not understand it and eventually come to regard it as "magic". It is imperative that all decisions be based on the long term strategy of society and we weigh all the considerations before making those final decisions.

Technology is the mantra of today's progress and development in any
sector-Technology is here to stay. But the question foremost in one's
mind is -Are all technologies good, safe and viable???
Technologies
may be interesting, purposeful and futuristic. With the vast range of
technologies available at one's disposal, it becomes pertinent to
analyze their advantages before putting them to use.
Technologies
are an 'ingredient' to all further developments and should not be
treated as the 'final solution' per se. They are 'subjective' in nature.
The
choice of technologies readily available today are a great boon for
further advancement and development before their implementation to
use.It therefore, pays to select the best available ones and develop the
same to suite our needs more effectively, keeping in mind to ensure its
'longevity' which will give us the necessary time to work out further developments on the same.

I would definitely support technology any day. But the question arises whether they are all safe and viable. I work as BDM also, some of my clients scrap the new technology introduced to them and switch back to legacy systems. For some it is a compromise, they 'PAID' for it so they use it. For instance, a billing module was purchased by a company, it is a famous one, but i would refrain from taking names. The company is just using it, for the sake of having purchased it where else they miss the flexibility of having their own format of bills as they have to follow it's standards. There are cases when companies have to pile on more technology to get optimum usage of the technology they have acquired. The list goes on. There should be a fine balance between the needs of having technology and having it in need. As for the safety, take for instance the malware, the loss of data, system crashes they are as good risk as any for any company. Businesses spend so much to ensure that there are DRM's to ensure safety of their data as well as technology. If it feels there is loss. One way or the other, may It be important data, time spent in bringing up the systems back or plainly the money spent to recover the data. Very good debatable point. But the point is it 'viable and safe'. I would'nt agree to it all the times. There has to be careful planning and need examination. Then technology is a boon.
