It would definitely have been a boon...provided the concept of individual-responsiblity would have existed in our society........but to say of today...its a BANE......

Definitely according to me an over populated area is definitely a bane to the economy..as long as the resources are scarce, we need to have keen look on the use of it..and if this is the case over population will encounter in thorny issues.

Certainly bane. After 60 years of Independence we are still starving for food and water. We can not manage our systems.Don't you think that it is shameful. What is a reason for this? As per the comments received for boon support, we must have become super power.More the heads.more the brains.more the hands.more the lab our, more the competition ,this is good for imagining and writing purpose but in real life it is dangerous. How many from us win a gold medal in Olympic? The reason is that our child, our youth are underfeeding.Only 10%of our populations can manage to take healthy food and remains fit for work or sports. For arguments sake we can create any global picture of growth but ask ourselves what we have achieved so far and what we have contributed for the world?

High population can not be boon since we have limited natural resources on the earth. This is clear because today we do not have enough jobs for educated and non-educated youth, resulting in daily loot , murders, kidnapping and arson. The life pf people has become totally insecure. People have forgotten their close relations for their own survival. The lives of senior citizens is at stake. Anyhow we have to control the population growth in our country because even today the people do not have a land to have their own house. Own house means own, if you live a a high rise flate, today you do not have the place even to stand on the roads in big cities.

BOON IF YOU CAN HARNESS THE POTENTIAL OF A OVER 54% YOUNG POPULATION......BANE IF YOU OVERLOOK THE SAME IN FACE OF PERSONAL GREED AND I GIVE A FUCK ATTITUDE. THEN BE READY FOR NAXALITE MOVEMENT & KASHMIR UNREST SPREADING CROSS PAN-INDIA. ITS A HISTORICAL FACT THAT INDIANS HAVE ALWAYS LACKED A VISION FOR THEIR COUNTRY..LET'S NOT FORGET CHANAKYA WAS THE FIRST TO TELL US IN 1400 THAT RAJYA AND GANRAJYA HAVE NO SYNERGY SO HOW CAN YOU FIGHT THE ENEMY...........THE BRITISH READ,UNDERSTOOD AND USED CHANAKYA 'S WRITING BY RULING THE COUNTRY FOR 500 YEARS AND LEFT US DIVIDED TILL TODAY. MORE CAN BE MERRYFUL IF YOU KNOW HOW TO HARNESS AND NOT FOLLOW THE PRINCIPLE OF DIVIDE AND RULE..SANJAY SINGHAL

the population can be a boon, if we take it as a useful resource. india has a huge population, if the structure of indian politics, education & employment can get improved, then definaitely, we can get the maximum benefit of the population. we have good resource, but it can be better , if they are skilled.

Though there may be some good in it being a "Boon" there is a lot that goes against having a large population, thus making it a "Bane". Large population puts lots of strain on lots of things, the first being 1. "Nature" and environment. 2. "Natural Resources" of the country. 3. Difficult for government to provide basic health facilities, good education, etc. 4. Proper transportation and other infrastructure facilities. Moreover, the standard of living goes down by proliferation of slums in all cities.

Big Population is a boon...... Our FDI's are incresing because of our population. Foreign Investments are driven to India because of huge base of customers. This has been one of the finest cases of globalisation and development in all major sectors of our economy.

It is s boon if you look at it with a possitive mind and a bane if you have a negative mind set. But in the end it is more likely to be a boon rather than a bane. The more the number of brains the more number of ways to look at any proposistion and more varied solution. More mouths to feed is supported by more hands to work and deliver more goods and services. The limitation of 10 persons in a given space presuposes that level of brain ( in more visible terms the level of technology) remains the same which is not true.Since there is no way human brains can be idle, there is always going to more actitivies of creation the more the population

Our numbers is what makes us a strong player in the world's economy. We weren't such a force, during the licence raj, when our politicians chose to isolate us from the rest of the world. But now, inspite of us having several hundred million people "below the poverty line" we are an economic force that is heading to be a world power. And it's this stronger economic status that is now helping dramatically reduce the difference between the haves and the have nots.

Today Indian economies growth proves the fact a managable population, as mentioned bu Sasi is a boon for our economy. At the same time the population is to be curbed since if it is not brought under control the seams will burst and it will prove to be a bane.

Like any other natural resource, population is also a resource. But like any resource this resource also needs to be productive. It has to be educated, tolerant, ambitious and should work for a corruption less and cast less society.
