I agree that this type of bomb blast can be prevented. Lost 12 people and maybe even more. Shame. But BJP need not celebrate because its track record is even worse,.... and do not have a genuine concern for security of India citizens ...just like other political parties.

The team has been divided into smaller groups and each group will cover five villages every day. The government has also taken various other initiatives to popularise girls’ education. The Chief Minister’s Kanya Kelavni Nidhi has received Rs. 44-crore from individuals and institutions, and by raising money through auctioning of gifts received by the Chief Minister himself. The construction of 50,914 washrooms in schools has also played an important role in decline in the dropout rate of girl students. The annual campaign known as Kanya Kelavni and Shala Praveshotsav started nine years ago and has already started paying dividends. Burning Shame of Hindutva, Burning an european alive! - Part 1
The gruesome murder of an Australian missionary and his two sons in Orissa shocks the nation--and rattles the BJP-led government at the Centre. By Ruben Banerjee, India Today
Even in death they were inseparable. Charred beyond recognition and reduced to fragile frames of ashes, the three bodies lay clinging to each other in what must have been a vain attempt to protect each other and escape the mob. But on the fateful night of January 22-23 in the wilderness of Manoharpur village in the sleepy rural outback of Orissa's Keonjhar district, nothing worked for the hapless father and his two sons. Having surrounded them from all sides, a murderous crowd set on fire the old four-wheel drive Willy's station wagon in which the three had retired for the night.
The beastly act done, Australian-born Christian missionary Graham Stewart Staines, 58, and his two sons, Phillip, 10, and Timothy, 7, were put to sleep forever. No sooner had its macabre mission been completed than the mob melted away in the darkness as the flames that had leapt skywards simmered. But the heat generated by the senseless killings and the outrage stoked are far from ebbing days after the incident.
With the campaign against Christians, so far confined to Gujarat, making its ugliest appearance in Orissa, the nation went numb with horror. Even as Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee hung his head in shame, his Government was rattled by the wave of condemnation. President K.R. Narayanan spoke for everyone when he described the murder as "a monumental aberration of time-tested tolerance and harmony. The killings belong to the world's inventory of black deeds". Confronted with the charge that the Bajrang Dal -- a militant Hindu outfit attached to the VHP and with links to the RSS -- was guilty of the horrific murder, the prime minister despatched a three-member cabinet team to Manoharpur and announced a judicial inquiry headed by a Supreme Court judge.
For the past 35 years, dressed in casuals, sporting his trademark hat and wheeling his rickety bicycle, Saibo -- as he was popularly called -- was a fixture in Baripada where he did "God's work", tending and nursing leprosy patients in a specially run home on the town's outskirts.
Born in Brisbane, as a young boy the Australian became a pen friend of one Santanu Satpathy of Baripada with whom he shared his birthday. The long-distance friendship bloomed and Staines visited Baripada to call on his friend. That was in 1965 and he never returned. Besides the idyllic landscape of the region, what touched him was the Leprosy Home run since the last century with help from the Leprosy Mission of Australia. Having barely finished school, Staines finally found his mission in life. He devoted himself to the Home -- eventually becoming its superintendent -- and also immersed himself in preaching the Bible by virtue of also being the convener and treasurer of the Evangelical Missionaries Society.
His dedicated service won him many hearts. Fluent in Oriya and the local Santhali dialect, Staines and his wife Glades, whom he married in the '80s, were pillars of the local society. Three years ago, a devastating fire in Baripada left at least a 100 dead and scores horribly burnt. The local hospital failed to cope and the Staines couple -- Glades is a trained nurse -- spent nights nursing the injured. Elected president-designate of the local Rotary chapter for 2001, Staines was a leading light in last month's Pulse Polio immunisation drive. He distributed leaflets enthusiastically while Glades drove the jeep that led the procession for creating awareness in Baripada.

The current population of hindus is around 80% and the education loan for them is 14%.The current population of muslims is around 13% and the education loan for them is 3%. Solution: Just reduce the Hindu population from 80 to 13 and take the educational loan at 3%. Allow minorities to increase their percentage of the population and they will take the educational loan at 14%. Will you accept this Mr.Khaitan?

Bomb blast by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti Sourcehttp://www.expressindia.com/latest-news/two-held-for-blast-in-thane-bomb-in-vashi/323787/ The state Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Monday made its first major breakthrough in the two cases of crude bombs planted at auditoriums in Navi Mumbai and Thane recently, with the arrest of two men claiming affiliation to an organisation called the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti.
According to the ATS, the two were also involved in a minor explosion at a Panvel cinema hall screening the film Jodhaa Akbar in February this year. The two claim to have planted the explosives on their own and not at the behest of any organisation.
According to the ATS, the duo claim their attacks were planned in retaliation to the screenings of the movie Jodhaa Akbar and the Marathi play Aamhi Panchpute, as they felt these caricaturised Hindu deities and insulted Hindu sentiments. The Hindu Janjagruti Samiti had earlier staged protests against the screening of the movie and the producer of the play.
The arrested accused are Ramesh Hanumant Gadkari (50) and Mangesh Dinkar Nikam (34). They were picked up by the ATS early on Monday from New Panvel and remanded to police custody till June 24.
“They have been arrested in connection with the crude bomb planted at Vishnudas Bhave auditorium in Vashi on May 31, and the bomb that exploded at Gadkari Rangayatan auditorium in Thane on June 4. They have been booked under the Indian Penal Code for attempt to murder, voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means, and voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous means, and under the Explosives Substances Act. ... we have evidence that they are also involved in the small explosion that took place in a theatre screening Jodhaa Akbar at Panvel on February 20,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (ATS) Hemant Karkare.
“They have told us that they are full-time members of the Hindu Jangruti Samiti and the Sanatan Sanstha. However, we have not recovered any documents to prove their membership. They claim that they did not act on orders from any organisation. However, we are probing the possible involvement of the organisation. Office bearers have been questioned and more arrests are likely,” said Karkare.
Following the arrests, the Mumbai coordinator of the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, Uday Dhuri, insisted that the organization was not involved.
“Gadkari was not instigated to react this way by us. It was on his own that the idea occurred to him because of the portrayal of the Mahabharat in the play, and even when the police came to find him, we helped them,” said Dhuri. He added that though there are people having associations with both, the Sanathan Sanstha is independent of the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti. The duo told the ATS that a combination of ammonium nitrate and gelatin sticks had been planted by them in all three cases. According to the ATS, Nikam was arrested in February 2006 in Ratnagiri, for allegedly throwing country-made bombs at the residence of a man who was believed to be conducting Christian rituals there.
The two accused operated from the Sanatan Sankul Ashram in Devegaon area of Panvel, where the bomb was assembled. Gadkari is a diploma holder in electrical engineering and was the one who prepared the circuit, while Nikam helped with sourcing the explosives, said police.

Wasting away your life for Hindu Terror - a young women's story! sourcehttp://www.financialexpress.com New Delhi: Former ABVP activist and key terror accused Pragya Singh Thakur has told the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad that fellow radical Ramji Kalsangra was responsible for the September 29, 2008, Malegaon bomb blast which he executed using her motorcycle.
She has also told investigators that the casualty figure of seven in that blast would have been higher had it not been for a “faulty bomb timer”.
The Mumbai ATS recorded this statement on October 15, 2008, after Pragya Thakur did not reveal much in her two other statements on October 11 and October 12, 2008.
This statement, a copy of which is with The Indian Express, assumes significance as the Home Ministry proposes that the National Investigation Agency bring under its purview all terror cases involving alleged Hindu extremists, including Malegaon, Samjhauta Express and the murder of ex-RSS pracharak Sunil Joshi.
Pragya Thakur’s statement in Marathi focuses on a 30-minute critical meeting with Ramji Kalsangra — who had been using her Freedom motorcycle after the murder of Sunil Joshi in December 2007 — at the Mahakaal Dharmashala in Ujjain on October 8, 2008. Kalsangra has been missing since the bomb blast.
Thakur said she bought the vehicle (registered number GJ 05 BR 1920) from Surat in 2003 with financial assistance from her “rakhi brother” Sunil Joshi of Dewas. In November 2004, Thakur gave the motorcycle to Joshi for use for Rs 22,000. She said the motorcycle was never sold to Sunil Joshi.
Arriving in Ujjain after taking the night train from Indore, Thakur was received by Kalsangra’s aide Dharmendra. The meeting was fixed at the Mahakaal Dharmashala over a safe mobile phone handed over to Thakur by the Kalsangra aide at the railway station.
During the 30-minute conversation, Thakur says she asked Kalsangra about the motorcycle and asked him to come with her to Surat. The statement quotes Kalsangra saying: “I have used your vehicle for a bomb blast in Malegaon, Maharashtra.” When she asked him why did he do this, Kalsangra replied: “It happened.”
Thakur then said that she would have to go to jail as the vehicle was in her name. Ramji Kalsangra replied that she need not worry as he had changed the number-plate and filed off the vehicle’s engine and chassis number. He told her the police would find no clues.
According to her statement, Kalsangra told her that “two or three people” had died in Malegaon. Ramji said: “There was a mistake in timing of the bomb explosion. I tried to park the vehicle in one or two crowded places but could not do so. After this, I parked the vehicle at one place and left immediately. At that point, there was not much crowd in the vicinity and there was so much explosive packed in the vehicle that the entire rear-end was blown away.”
Thakur met the police inspector in Surat on October 10, 2008, with Kalsangra buying her a ticket to Surat and giving her another Rs 15,000 for expenditure.
In the statement, Thakur is also quoted as having said that she met Lt Colonel Srikant Prasad Purohit on October 5, 2008 in Jabalpur. Purohit told her that he had orchestrated bomb blasts in Orissa, Karnataka and Maharashtra, “killing a large number of people.”
THE SADHVI & THE COLONEL
PRAGYA FELL OUT with Malegaon blast accused Col Shrikant Purohit over “money”, the Sadhvi has told the NIA. She said she met Purohit first in April 2008 at an Abhinav Bharat gathering.
PUROHIT sent text messages to associates saying “Singh has sung the song” after Pragya’s arrest, which, the NIA believes, could indicate that Purohit, Pragya and others were working together.

13 BJP-RSS men found guilty in Kerala bomb attack
Source:http://www.rediff.com/news/2008/nov/14-13-bjp-men-found-guilty-in-bomb-attack.htm
Kerala:All the 13 accused in a bomb attack on a house in 2000, in which three members of a family including a six-year old girl were injured, were found guilty by a local court in Kannur on Friday.
The Thalassery Additional Sessions Court (Fast Track-3) Judge B Ramakanth found the activists of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party [ Images ] guilty and said the sentence would be delivered on November 17.
The court found them guilty under various IPC sections including IPC 307 (attempt to murder) and Section 3 and 5 of the Explosives Substance Act.
The court dropped charges against the sixth accused K Pradeepan, following his death in a bomb explosion while handling crude bombs at Cheruvanchery last Monday.
The court examined 23 witnesses in the case.
According to the police, the incident occurred during panchayat polls on September 27, 2000, when a group of BJP/RSS workers threw a crude bomb when the girl was playing with her brother in front of her uncle's residence at Cheruvanchery.
The activists had assumed that some Congressmen were hiding in the house, a fall-out of the dispute between the rival Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress over electoral malpractices.
Besides the girl, whose right leg had to be amputated, her brother and mother were also injured. PS: Breaking away from dynastic rule, RSS will name the bomb factory in kerala as Nathuram Godse Institute for Bomb Making. Admissions open for academic year 2012 .

MAHATMA GANDHI WAS MOST UNDEMOCRATIC 1. Mahatma Gandhi is not the Sole Authority of India, he was a very Undemocratic Person, In 1939, when Netaji Subash Chandra Bose won the Congress Presidential Candidature, this Undemocratic Gandhi opposed him & Installed Pattabhi Sitaramayya.... 2. For the First Prime Ministership of India, Sardar Ballavbhai Patel got 14 out of 15 votes & Jawarlal got just 1 Vote, still this Undemocratic Gandhi opposed Patel & installed Jawarlal Nehru, which ultimately converted our Democracy in a Dynastic rule.......... Indira, Sanjay, Rajiv, Sonia, Priyanka, Rahula..... & so on... The most Unfortunate for India.. 3. On one hand, Mahatma Gandhi was talking about SWADESHI in India and on the other hand Nehru (Flirted with Lady Mountbatten), Indira & Rajiv also flirted in England, Fir be Mera Desh Mahan....... 74 Years old Anna Hazare is not Flirting, but fighting against Corruption It is a Pity that more than 50% of the our Indian population are illiterate and below poverty line, Tell me who is responsible... Congress has ruled our Country for 64-6=58 Yrs & BJP has ruled for just 6 Years... Now tell me who is more responsible, Congress or BJP, Just compare Atal Behari Vajpayee & Patient Manmohan Singh... ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE PROVED THAT BJP IS ONE NAME FOR 1. DEVELOPMENT 2. STABLE PRICES 3. ROADS & ALL INFRASTRUCTURES 4. WATER HARVESTING 5. CONNECTING RIVERS FOR SOLUTION TO FLOODS & DRAUGHTS 6. Infighting in Guj BJP (The most democratic party) sourcehttp://www.expressindia.com/latest-news/RSS-unhappy-with-infighting-in-Guj-BJP/231451/ Ahmedabad, October 23: The RSS is miffed with the intense infighting going on within the BJP ranks in Gujarat and will adhere to its previous decision of not lending "organised support" to the ruling party in the December assembly polls, a top leader has said.
"RSS is very unhappy with the infighting within the BJP," senior RSS leader Mukundrao Devbhankar said, referring to the game of one upmanship going on between veteran leader Keshubhai Patel and Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
This is for the first time that the RSS has expressed its displeasure over the situation within the state BJP.
The rebellion within the party has reached such a passé that the dissidents have been organising farmers' meetings throughout the state against the state government's anti- peasant policies with the help of the Congress and are even thinking of contesting against the BJP in their campaign to oust Modi.

Rape - it is a women's fault - Sena Source:http://aligarians.com/mehfil/index.php?topic=1993.0;wap2 Straight out of the SS mouthpiece. Quote
'If A Man Is Provoked By Such Clothes, Who Can One Blame?'
While the rape of a minor girl by a police officer at Mumbai's Marine Drive outraged the country and the city, Shiv Sena's Marathi mouthpiece Saamna on Monday, April 25, 2005, carried its very own take. Updates
SAAMNA
Being cautious makes the world seem good. That's the advice that growing children get from their experienced grandparents. But, in today's superfast world, grandparents have been consigned to old-age homes and youth have fallen in the page-three trap. In the attempt to provide a 'free' atmosphere at home, parents proudly allow girls to wear skimpy clothes and give boys uncontrolled freedom. But this modern path is strewn with shards of glass and we don't see parents telling their children to tread carefully.
The rape of a minor girl at the Marine Drive police chowki has brought into focus the question of free culture. The danger of page-three culture is knocking at our doors. Many elders strolling around on Marine Drive caution that one should be aware of the times.
The More [the police officer responsible for the outrage] incident is a blot not only on the police force but also on society. At More's chowki, semi-nude photographs of women were found. The skimpy nature of clothes worn by girls, in the name of fashion, indicates where the society is headed. A 'below-the-waist' fashion is cited as the reason for the seeming competition among young women to show their undergarments. A family outing on Chowpatty does not seem feasible anymore. The sight of girls dangling cigarettes openly is cause for concern. If a man is provoked by such clothes, who can one blame?
In a glamorous society such as Mumbai's, it is not possible for working women to be home before 8 pm. But because of this free culture, respectable girls stepping out of their homes are also in danger, and this advice of grandmothers definitely seems apt, prompted as it is by the posters of Page 3 and Zahar.
One thing has to be brought to notice: page three culture is banging on our doors. The situation in Mumbai is such, specially for adolescent girls, that the path seems strewn with glass shards. Why don't the elders of the house object when these girls wear skimpy clothes and leave home? Why don't they correct the myth that being modern does not mean wearing skimpy clothes? Why is the young generation modern in attire but not modern in thought? One after another, these questions are coming to the forefront.
Those who argue that there is no connection between women and girls wearing skimpy clothes and rape should see it in the context of our social structure. Besides rape, it is the evil eye of men provoked by the culture of skimpy clothes that is harmful. Why encourage these perverse tendencies?
In the name of remixes, the wave of 'sex appeal' is ruining entire generations. If an adolescent boy develops perverse tendencies because of such hot movies and their obscene posters, and an innocent girl falls victim to that, then who is to blame? The boy's perversity or society?
Translation of the front-page article in Shiv Sena's Marathi mouthpiece Saamna on Monday, April 25, 2005.

RSS men killed while making bombs Source:kafila.org Two bajarangdal leaders were killed while 2 others injured on 24 August when they were making bombs in Kanpur in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh (UP) as reported by Urdu daily Rashtriya Sahara in its front page. According to Sahara, the blast was so strong that the wall of the room in which the blast occurred collapsed. In other rooms, the walls were damaged. Pieces of glass were strewn everywhere.
The bomb blasted in a house in Rajeev Nagar area on Sunday afternoon. According to the report, the police recovered 3 kg lead oxide, 500 g red lead, 1 kg potassium nitrate, 11 country made grenades, several bomb pins, seven timers and batteries from the spot. According to the IG, “The recovery shows that a massive explosion was on the cards.
The deceased have been identified as Rajeev Mishra and Bhupinder Singh. While Rajeev is the son of S S Mishra, the landlord of the house, Bhupinder was a resident of Shastri Nagar. Mishra, a retired Kanpur Electric Supply Company employee, lives in the nearby Nankari village. He had rented a few rooms of his house to several students.
Rajeev’s occupied the room in which the blast took place. As he works in Lucknow, he used to visit the place on Sundays.
According to a senior police officer, the material found could have been used for several explosions. Of the seven timers recovered, two were attached with batteries with the help of wires.
It is reported that Piyush, who used to work as a complaint officer in a mobile company in Lucknow, came home with Bhupinder and asked the residents of the hostel to vacate the rooms on the pretext of checking the electric wiring. Shiv Sharan Mishra, Rajiv’s father, a retired employee of Kesko had built this private hostel, which had nine rooms and 14 students stayed in the hostel and Rajiv had kept one room for himself. As soon as the occupants left the hostel, a massive blast took place. Recovery of a timer device and prohibited explosive raw materials show that a major terror plot was being hatched there. Bhupinder used to run a photo studio in the Sarvoday Nagar locality of Kanpur and his shop was close to the city’s popular J.K. temple, police said. According to the police the explosives were meant to be spread during Sunday’s celebrations. On monday police recovered some crude hand grenades, lead oxide, red lead, potassium nitrate, bomb pins, timers and batterires from the spot. The police felt that the quantity of explosives stored there was enough to destroy half of Kanpur.
The most notable fact about the perpetrators of this conspiracy, who died during this explosion, is that both of them belonged to Bajrang Dal, the ‘storm troopper’ wing of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The leaders of the Bajrang Dal have conceded that they ‘worked with the organisation’ some time back and one of them happened to be the convenor of the city wing.
Looking at the nature of the crime, and the fact that a major tragedy could be averted, it is expected that the state government with necessary help from the central government would try to unearth the real conspirators who were behind the plan. It is a positive sign that the police have recovered mobiles of both of them and now if they wish they can take the case to its logical end.
After the blast in Bangalore and Ahmedabad, all fingers were pointed towards Muslims. Intelligence along with Media would hide all reports and facts that would point fingers towards the non Muslim communities. Now this explosion may point the finger the other day. Senior congress leader Dig Vijay Singh had said in an interview with Tehelka that he had evidence of Of RSS and VHP making bombs. Now, this explosion may prove that Dig Vijay may be right.

Congress in its major span of rule, has done more harm to the country than anybody else Agreed. But INC's loot rate (like run rate in cricket) is low. Loot rate is equal to amount looted divided by the number of years this loot has been going on. BJP has a high loot rate and hence is a dangerous party.
What INC's CMs in karnataka couldn't loot in 64 years, Yeddy did it in just 1 year.

SHE MAY BE DESIROUS OF RAHUL GANDHI TO BECOME PM Naturally, unless Manmohan Singh is discredited enough she would not find ways to install Rahul Gandhi on the throne of PM. The silence of Rahul Gandhi till today in between the strong movement of Anna Hazare is a clear sign that he does not want to get any type of discredit in connection with Jan Lokpal Bill in the wake of foolish acts of negative propaganda by the congress spokes persons and cabinet ministers as well as the Delhi Police to arrest Anna on their direction, so that there may not remain any hurdle in his way to become a PM. Close on the wheels of alleged rape of a minor by two constables, the chairman of a civic body and the son of a senior BJP leader allegedly killed a woman after outraging her modesty in Sawaimadhopur district, police said today.
The four accused, including the Chairman of Sawaimadhopur Nagar Palika, the son of BJP leader Rampal Jaat and the son of PA to Collector, besides a person named Rajkumar Sahu, were today booked for allegedly raping and poisoning to death the 22-year old woman yesterday, they said.

There are plenty of NGOs that have been fighting corruption for more than a decade. for e.g. Janaagraha, Loksatta etc etc. It is these NGOs that are doing the real painful work BUT Anna gets all the credit without doing any work.

".. I feel difference in salaries in Govt. and Pvt. sector is because of wrong policies of the Government..." In the government sector,on an average only 4 out of 10 people do their work sincerely while in the private sector it is more than 9 out of 10. So,how can the salaries be the SAME? Should we pay all these government sectored people for NOT doing any work? First, improve that 4 out of 10 to atleast 9 out of 10, then we'll think about.....

Vajpayee - part 6 Had he succeeded in sacking Narendra Modi, as he seemed to want to do at one stage, he could have retained his value among the so-called secular allies. With Vajpayee repeatedly toeing the Hindu fundamentalist line, often declaring his undying love for the Hindu supremacist ideology and its main repository, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the line between Advani and Vajpayee has become blurred. Indeed, Advani is being seen as more authentic in what he says and does, except of course his abject apologies abroad for activities in which he takes pride while in the country.
Vajpayee is reported to be particularly upset at his party's continuous campaign against the Election Commission (EC). Ministerial sources revealed to the media that in the cabinet meeting of August 18, Vajpayee quietly tried to resist the Gujarat issue - the EC refusing to announce dates for elections until electoral rolls were completed - being sent to the Supreme Court through presidential reference. But Gujarat is overseen by Advani. And Advani was adamant. Vajpayee is said to have made up his mind to quit during that meeting itself, though like any good politician he would wait for the right issue and the right time. But he had given notice of his intention to quit even earlier in his Independence Day speech from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort on August 15. He had reminded the nation that he had already fulfilled his ambition of unfurling the flag from there for five years, thus becoming the longest ruling non-Congress politician in the nation's history.
A ruling party at war with itself would be a godsend to any opposition party. But the Congress party is in no position to take advantage of the massive turf war within the Hindu fundamentalist family. Its leader, Italian-born Sonia Gandhi, continues to be its Achilles heel. While she is making steady progress in the department of oratory, copying gestures of public speaking from her late mother-in-law, former prime minister Indira Gandhi, and has even improved her Hindi accent, there is nothing that she can do about her origins.
Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha, who had helped bring down the last Vajpayee government in league with Sonia Gandhi and contested her last elections as a Congress ally, again raked up Gandhi's foreign origins on Wednesday, saying that she would never support a "foreigner" for the post of prime minister. Already convicted in a corruption case and facing several serious charges, Jayalalitha is obviously doing this to curry favor with the government in order to seek its support now that she has got the votes with the help of other parties. But the fact is that the issue can be raised by anyone at any time, even though it has now been put on the political back-burner, even by the BJP, as Gandhi has been elected for parliament both from the north and south of India, showing clearly that her origin is not necessarily an issue with the majority of Indian people.
Thus the weakening of Vajpayee, even his quitting the scene, will not affect the stability of the government. It will just remove the anomaly of the government being led by a leader with little support in the party. As the so-called secular allies of the BJP seem to have no objection to hard-line fundamentalist Advani leading the government, Vajpayee has in any case outlived his utility. Whether or not his party gives him credit for this, the fact remains that he has transformed a pariah of a party into the most desirable coalition partner, cobbling together a majority of nearly 100 members of parliament.

Vajpayee - part 5 Advani's present apology has followed a similar pattern. While addressing the Delhi unit of the party shortly before leaving for London, Advani had aggressively attacked the press and the opposition, accusing them of slandering the BJP's top leadership. He had seen an opposition conspiracy in criticisms made of the chief minister. Lavishing fulsome praise on Modi, he said that he was loved by his people, indeed recalling that he had been polled the second most popular chief minister in the country. Advani also made a rather labored defense of Modi in both Houses of parliament a month ago. Indeed, he had gone to the extent of asserting that Modi would receive a "certificate" from the people of Gujarat when the elections were held, obviously for presiding over what became an "indefensible" episode for a London audience packed with unsparing international journalists.
For an accomplished politician like Vajpayee, such Advaniesque double entendres are not difficult to perform. Indeed, he can do this even better than his deputy. But he has let it be known to his close colleagues that he is tired of all this now and would rather quit than go on practicing this kind of duplicity. The poet in Vajpayee has a habit of asserting himself once in a while, leading to tantrums of sorts. He has threatened to resign before, at least twice in the past year, and had to be persuaded to stay on.
But the situation has changed now and there may not be any need for him to be persuaded to stay on should he threaten to go again. One, his own disenchantment is far deeper than before. Two, he has outlived his utility as the "mask" that could rope in so-called secular allies, giving them an excuse to join the Hindu fundamentalist-led coalition.
Perhaps the greatest sign of his helplessness was a recent case in which one of his closest confidantes and a senior minister handling three cabinet departments, including parliamentary affairs and communications, was accused of being involved with a woman journalist who was murdered three years ago, Shivani Bhatnagar. Not a shred of evidence has been produced against Pramod Mahajan yet, but his career as a politician has been greatly affected by the charges made by the wife of a senior police officer accused of the murder. Calls for Mahajan's DNA test on charges of infidelity and illicit relations with the murdered journalist have tarnished his reputation. As the case, virtually closed, was suddenly reopened by the newly-appointed police commissioner, handpicked by Advani, almost as soon as he assumed office, without any new development in the investigations, an Advani hand is being seen in this episode. Since Mahajan was originally close to Advani and later shifted his loyalty to Vajpayee, this is also seen as an attack on Vajpayee, who finds himself helpless in the matter.
A younger and more virile Vajpayee could have still turned the tables on his opponents in the party. But the septuagenarian doesn't seem to have the will to do that any more. What has circumscribed his initiative, apart from health difficulties, is that his traditional acceptability among so-called secular parties has been seriously compromised by his insensitivity or inability to make any difference in Gujarat.

Vajpayee - part 4 Now Modi is still ruling Gujarat and Vajpayee has to again show his face to the world. Modi has become the blue-eyed boy of BJP's real boss, Advani, as well as the party rank and file. He was voted the second most popular chief minister of the country in a recent poll conducted by the country's largest-circulation magazine, India Today. All the BJP's chances of retaining power in Gujarat - the only state it is now ruling as compared with the main opposition Congress party's 14 - now rest with Modi.
Modi is scheduled on September 3 to begin a traditional Hindu "chariot" procession, to be called "Gujarat's Pride", celebrating the awakening of Hindus that helped them show Muslims their rightful places - in graveyards or refugee camps. He will take this metaphorical chariot to the length and breadth of the state. Vajpayee had stopped an earlier attempt to undertake such an abominable mission, but now he is powerless to do so. On Vajpayee's visits abroad, this issue is being raised, with obvious discomfort.
Vajpayee is scheduled to embark on a number of foreign trips in coming weeks. Starting with an eight-day trip to New York to attend a United Nations General Assembly meeting, he is set to then visit the Maldives, the only neighboring country that he has not visited as prime minister. This will be soon followed by Cyprus and then Denmark for an Indo-European Union meeting. Later in November he is to go to Cambodia for an Indo-ASEAN gathering. If dates can be worked out, he may also visit China in December and Pakistan in January for the summit meeting of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
The international community has developed a nasty habit of asking visiting politicians embarrassing questions about human rights violations at home. Strongman Advani himself had to eat proverbial humble pie in London last week. He had to tender an abject apology for the traumatic happenings of Gujarat, calling them "a blot on my government" and terming them "outrageous" and "indefensible". He even said that he was "sorry that this happened", even as protesters raised noisy slogans outside against the "murderer of Gujarat" and the "ruthless exploiter of religious minorities".
This reminded observers of December 6, 1992, the day that the Babri mosque in Ayodhya was demolished by Hindu fanatics. Advani described this day to the judicial enquiry commission recently as "the saddest day of my life", though he had personally presided over the demolition that was itself the culmination of a movement he had himself led earlier. He, too, had moved in a chariot as Modi is planning to do now.

Vajpayee - part 3 Running a government that is seen to drop cabinet ministers for their inability to get the corporate world to render favors to their parties cannot be easy for a politician who wants to be remembered as a prime minister with a difference. Also galling to Vajpayee is his inability to even demand the sacking of the newly-appointed president of the party, Venkaiah Naidu, who has had to return four acres of land originally earmarked for distribution among dalits (untouchables) after allegations that he had appropriated nearly 40 acres of similar land in Andhra Pradesh. Naidu is an Advani appointee. In the famous scandal exposed by the website tehelka.com last year, when party president Bangaru Laxman was seen taking a bribe of about US$2,000 from journalists posing as arms dealers, he had to resign immediately. Laxman was a Vajpayee appointee.
Another severe blow to Vajpayee's credibility came on Wednesday when the cabinet committee on disinvestment had to put off its meeting for the fourth time in a row, putting into serious jeopardy his government's policy of opening up the economy. Apparently internal pressures generated by the Hindu fundamentalist family opposed to privatization are beginning to thwart the process. Apart from Ram Naik, who was leading the pack of those opposed to privatization, even Defense Minister George Fernandes has now joined the fray on behalf of the fundamentalist lobby.
Vajpayee has no answer to a turf war of such magnitude. If today almost every BJP leader is involved in some scandal or the other, he has none other than a party colleague to blame. The media have been getting the scoops about BJP from within BJP itself. Leading a party at war with itself is no easy matter.
Vajpayee has other, even more serious reasons to be unhappy. He has let it be known that he is tired of defending Narendra Modi, the BJP chief minister of Gujarat, who is believed to have orchestrated the recent massacres of Muslims in that state. Before visiting Singapore in early April he had to visit Gujarat first to be able to "show his face" to the world community after the communal violence against Muslims that began in February. His distress about how he would face the outside world was palpable. He had to make all the right noises - calling it a national shame, etc - while visiting Ahmedabad's largest relief camp where thousands of refugees were trying to survive under very trying circumstances with hardly any support from the government.
Though Vajpayee was allowed to criticize Modi before his trip to Singapore, he had to eat his words at the party conference in Goa and defend him immediately after his return from Singapore. In fact, he even blamed the Muslims themselves for their plight, going further than Advani in justifying the massacres. He said that wherever in the world Muslims lived, they made a nuisance of themselves.

Vajpayee: Almost gone, and forgotten - Part 2 But Vajpayee is able to do neither. Indeed, his party is delighted that the court has reversed his order on the petrol dealerships for the moment, as party faithfuls will continue to benefit from the largesse. It is being pointed out in BJP circles that Vajpayee's move, having served the purpose of scotching the media campaign and opposition-induced furor, obviates the need for any further action. And Naik cannot be sacked, particularly because he had only followed the orders of the real strongman of the party, Home Minister and now also Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishan Advani to help the party workers receive the allotments.
Similarly helpless is Vajpayee in the matter of other ministers Jagmohan and Ananth Kumar, who as urban development ministers gave away precious land at throwaway prices to the entire Sangh Parivar (the family of Hindu fundamentalists to which the BJP belongs) and their affiliates and sub-affiliates. No one in the Parivar favors returning the land to the government for fresh allotments. In fact, they do not admit any wrongdoing in either matter.
Not only is Vajpayee unable to get rid of corrupt ministers, he has recently had to sack the one minister who had developed a reputation for honesty and efficiency, Power Minister Suresh Prabhu. A special swearing-in session was held this week to elevate Anant Geethe, a nondescript, inefficient, inexperienced and apparently corrupt minister of state in the finance ministry to cabinet rank to replace Prabhu.
Why this atrocity? Well, Prabhu belongs to the more militant among the Hindu fundamentalist parties, the Shiv Sena led by supremo Bal Thackeray. Thackeray ridiculed Prabhu recently for seeking to develop the persona of a "Mr Clean" and accused him of pursuing his "vision of a power-surplus India". If ministers developed the "vice" of honesty, how will their leaders run their parties; what with elections after elections to contest and massive funds required, how will they survive, he asked.
So Thackeray put pressure on Vajpayee to replace Prabhu with a minister who had a proven track record of making money for the party, and of course for himself as well. Incredibly, all of this was said publicly and Vajpayee accepted the replacement, even though he doesn't really need Sena's votes for the survival of his government. He could have put his foot down, but apparently Hindu fundamentalist solidarity proved more important than cleanliness and efficiency.

BJP and its PM that took respoonsibility Vajpayee: Almost gone, and forgotten - Part 1 By Sultan Shahin
NEW DELHI - Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee may have found an issue on which he can quit the government and retire from politics, taking the moral high ground, while still not damaging his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) too much. His dream of leading "a party with a difference" was shattered with recent exposures of scandal after scandal, and no one can fault him for wanting to save what is left of his personal image as a prime minister with a difference.
He had ordered the cancellation of all allotments of petrol pump, kerosene and liquefied petroleum gas dealerships made since January 2000, as soon as the news of a scandal broke that most of these dealerships had been given to close relatives of officials of his BJP and its allies in the 25-party coalition government that he heads.
But the Supreme Court on Wednesday rendered inoperative the government's August 9 order canceling the allotments in 2,248 cases, and allowed the dealers to carry on their businesses for the time being. The court also directed the government to restore to allottees, within two weeks, possession of 464 petrol pumps and gas and kerosene agencies taken over by oil companies after the August 9 order.
The court's status quo order will remain in operation until it rules on legal issues involved in the government's order. The court came down heavily on the government for not serving notices to the dealers before cancelling the allotments. The judge observed that many genuine allottees might have been deprived of their livelihoods and properties because of the center's hasty order.
Now the only way that the prime minister can salvage the situation is by bringing out an ordinance to circumvent the Supreme Court order, which probably President A P J Abdul Kalam would be more willing to sign than he was the last time an ordinance was brought before him seeking to thwart a Supreme Court order (that one called for election candidates to give information about their financial, educational and "criminal" status while filing nomination).
Another way to atone for the "crime" of distributing petrol and gas agencies to undeserving persons would be for the prime minister to sack the Petroleum Minister, Ram Naik.

Preferential sanctions for Muslim Students in education sector The government has introduced a new scholarship for minority religious students at Rs.10,000 per year, limited to two students per family, having an annual income of less than Rs 100,000. A special scholarship has been launched, exclusively, for Muslim girls, who will receive a grant of Rs. 3000 at degree level, Rs. 4000 at post graduate level and Rs. 5000/ for professional courses. Muslim girls will also receive stipend while preparing for competitive exams. To qualify for higher studies like MBBS, PG courses and Research, a new religion-based concession has been introduced for minority students, who would require to score only 50% marks -- even lower than 60% required by lower caste students. Furthermore, the minority religious students at degree, postgraduate, M. Phil., and Ph.D. levels will receive generous scholarship. This is an extremely iniquitous and prejudicial policy, grossly unfair to Hindu students. There is further discrimination against Hindu students. Hindu students have to pay much higher interest, 12-14% per annum, for educational loans, but minority students get loans at 3% interest from the National Minority Development and Finance Corporation under the Union Ministry of Finance. In commercial ventures for self-employment, a Hindu youth is entitled to get loans from commercial banks at 15-18% interest; and they have to produce 'margin money' of 15-40% for the project cost from their own pockets; the rest comes from the bank. But minority youths have to put in only 5% as 'margin money' from their pockets; the other 35% is provided by the National Minority Development and Finance Corporation at only 3% interest. In a fair secular-democratic system, any government assistance and grants can only be disbursed solely based on economic status and merits. But poor Hindus are completely excluded from such government-sanctioned grants. So says an analyst: The preferential treatment to minority religionists - Muslims and Christians - while ignoring the poor Hindu students with similar economic status violates Article 15(1) which clearly stipulates that "The state shall not discriminate any citizen on grounds only of religion, race, caste, sex, place of birth or any of them". The Govt. cannot and must not be allowed to enforce the constitution selectively for benefiting its prospective voters.Recognition of the Madrassa certificates on par with the CBSE and the SSLC by the Sonia-Singh regime and calling it 'inclusive development' is against national interest as it encourages a "two-society mindset": Madrassas fundamentally negate the secular philosophy and inflict a devastating body blow to the principles of Secularism. These radical Islamic institutions are globally recognized as the nucleus-initiating stage for furthering a skewed mindset into jihadi terrorism. Conclusion In India, the policy of Muslim appeasement is a two-pronged instrument --- one is operated by the Delhi-based Central Government, the other by local governments in respective states. This unlawful and undemocratic privileges are elevating Muslims into first-grade citizens in the name of minorities, while the majority Hindus are turned into second-grade citizens. These developments are turning India into a de facto Islamic State, where Muslims, despite being the minority, enjoy elevated status and privileges, generally offered under typical Islamic governance.

Congress’s dangerous communal game: Will it cause a Hindu backlash? The recent ‘Mood of the Nation’ poll by this website has revealed that the Congress party is perceived to be utterly corrupt by all sections of the electorate, the lone exception being that of Muslims. (Read the Poll here) http://bit.ly/lKwpdf The questions naturally arise: why is the Muslim community out of sync with the nationwide trend, and is not the community equally affected by mis-governance and galloping corruption under the Congress-led UPA government? The Muslim community is well aware that this government has done precious little for their welfare. But now the Congress is seeking to appease them, by on the one hand targeting symbols of the Hindu community, and on the other by courting extreme elements among them and making shocking comments that appeal to their baser sentiments. And, it seems that Muslims have lapped up every cynical action of the Congress government at the Centre. The latest example is the merciless beating up of Baba Ramdev’s supporters in Delhi. The Manmohan Singh government has also been punitively targeting Hindu organizations and the Narendra Modi regime in Gujarat mainly to appease Muslims. All these provocative actions are part of a well orchestrated strategy drawn up by Rahul Gandhi and his political advisers to consolidate the Muslim vote in Congress party’s favour in order to achieve a near majority for his party in the 2014 parliamentary polls. The strategy of wooing Muslims seems to be working as the Congress party’s appeal and support among Muslims has risen substantially in the past three years. It is another matter that the Congress party’s image among the general public has taken a big knock nationwide due to the series of scams that it is embroiled in. As a part of this strategy, the Congress party has let loose Digvijaya Singh to mount a verbal offensive against everything that the Muslims hate. As Rahul Gandhi’s stalking horse and chosen man to lead this mission, Digvijaya commiserates with the families of alleged terrorists in Azamgarh, abuses the Sangh parivar, refers to Bin laden as “Osamaji” and calls Baba Ramdev a thug and worse.

Congress in its major span of rule, has done more harm to the country than anybody else. From the scams that have tumbled out of the congress closets, we can imagine how they have pillaged the country. BJP, is an alternative we could consider, however their Karnataka affair is still rich in memories of how they can collude with the corrupt and break/bend the law.

Sonia's Black Money Account Here is some shocking truth for all the supporters of Congress party regarding Gandhis , Rajiv’ 2.5 Billions,Swiss Magazine Confirms. The shocking exposure came from Switzerland itself. The most popular magazine of Switzerland, Schweizer Illustrierte, [dated November 11, 1991] did an expose of 14 politicians of developing nations who, it said, had stashed their bribes in Swiss banks. The title of the expose in German read “Fluchgelder — Die Schweizer Konten der Dictatoren”. In English it meant, “Curse of money — The Swiss bank accounts of the Dictators”. Rajiv Gandhi figured in the expose as one with slush funds in secret accounts. Schweizer Illustrierte is not some rag. It is the Number One Swiss magazine and sells some 2,10,000 copies. Its readership is 9,18,000 — some 15 per cent of Swiss adults. The magazine had mentioned specific amounts in secret Swiss accounts of different leaders with their pictures alongside. http://ramanan50.wordpress.com/2011/02/22/rajiv-2-5-billionsswiss-magazine-confirms/ and this is scan of the Magazine http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-78JLUX_8t5w/ThPo2mCIFpI/AAAAAAAADjc/fPuEeaUyJ7E/s1600/2.jpg http://www.kolkata-online.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/SI-46-1991-Seiten-38-41.jpg
