Yes and no. When the stuff is like Munni or Sheila... i.e.item numbers they certainly do not contribute like an entertainment when we see a Satyajit Ray film. These films are more spoilers than entertainers. But there are good entertainments like Pipli Alive, Dhobighat, Taare Zamin Paar etc or even entertainment sans the lousy items in films like Laagan, 3 Idiots etc.

A big Yes. Youths are misleading by the bollywood and also other film Industries. Robbery ideas, rapes, Kidnappings, and many more crimes are done by teenagers. Who evoked them? ofcoruse our Movies providing them new indeas that how will u escape after doing robbery. Few years ago only some people knows about the gays and lesbian relationships. But our some movies provided this informations to the generations that in india also such kind of relationships exists. Youth are so hipnotised by the movies that they even can't decide between right or rong.

Yup,I agree with Amrita,Being a part of this entertainment industry I understand things a little bit and I know things are done for sheer entertainment and nothing much...Of course, people take it the wrong way,Coz,govt. wont ban a scene having the Hero driving without a Helmet but, they would go ahead to ban a smoking scene...Its Ridiculous...

No, i think the movies are just for entertainment its nothing like these movies are misguiding the youth. I think movies are mirror of society movies like Rang de basanti, peepali live, are examples of good movies.

I do not think so and I think it's silly. A movie, a book. a painting cannot influence anyone who can reason for himself and herself. ( I'm presuming that youth means here mature individual of tender age). Lets face it folks-in every society there are stupid people and there are intelligent people- our society is no exception. Maybe some of the dumbos do look upto a popular hero or heroine for guidance. But even if they do, they are sooner or later, bound to come down to earth. No one can be misguided id he or she is given a proper foundation wherein their thinking powers to nurture. Bur are we doing that? Do we encourage positive & new thinking among the youth? We don't..Our education is managed by pompous old farts in the wrong side of 60!We encourage copy-catism among our children. Despite the bans, our college professors still persist in giving notes to students complete with spellings of long and not very frequent words. So maybe instead of blaming Bollywood and the west, we should take a long look into ourselves!!!

hey BIG nooo frm me aswell,it depends on how one look at, it primarly depends on the thinking process, some consider them as a part of entertainment and some consider more than mere an entertainment,if u r a well educated and a bit mature in thinking, thrs no where a chance for bollywood to misguide on contrary one might argue that "i ve seen people who r well educted ,mature and still there r in an illusion, and i do agree with u coz there are few exceptions....and i strongly believe tat there is a rise in clear decision making amo'ng the youth they know wat they are doing may be this can b attributed to development in the country and rise in the standards of living in and around us....

What Youth r we talking about??????? India's ...Muslim youth who is more guided by the teachings of the madarasas adn Imams The kashmiri Youth who is busy attending hatred speech of the fundamentals and in his spare time stone pelting the security The NE states youth who are so alienated that they spend their time planning the next embargo from India....remember Manipur's 8 months embargo The Bengali youth who pledges loyalty to CPI and get killed OR The east belt rural youth from the dense jungles of orrisa, chattisgarh, bengal and madya pradesh popularly known as ..NAXAL YOUTH WAGING WAR against INDIA OR The maharashtran youth trapped between the ideologies of MSN & SHIV SENA OR The kannada youth of karnataka aspiring to be in US sooner or later OR The kerala youth aspiring to link up with his bretheren in Saudi arabia /Muscat/Dubai/Tripoli/Doha,etc and start sending money home. OR The Bihari Youth Tolling day& night breaking his balls to break the IAS entrance and follow his seniors to keep the tradition of hijacking the govt with their coterie. Now that leaves the youth from the hindi hinterland.....confused,alienated,unemployed unsecured more because of the peer pressure and the dreaded quota system leaving just 8% to the general category where we all fall....... Where does it leave the time for bollywood????.... FOR ALL THE CLASS OF YOUTH MENTIONED ABOVE...... BOLLYWOOD IS NOTHING BUT AN EVENINGS NIGHT PARKINGS ENTERTAINMENT WHERE THEY CAN RELAX AND FEEL YOUNG AGAIN... For the numbered few who get carried away with BEBO'S Zero size body and therefore go on Diet to Hibernation......Good luck to them you can actually count them .. A handful of ill guided, illusionary wanting a good life........they are everywhere in every country but they don't make the rule but a once in a while exclusive story of RAGS TO RICHES...... remrember our own SHAH RUKH KHAN A country so divided on Geography, culture ,value system .....bollywood has failed to inspire the youth. sanjay singhal

i personally dont think boolywood affects the youth...since you are calling them youth..so they must have the maturity level as to decide wat is wrong and right. it depends on the individual whether to let it affect them or no.. not ony bollywood then..everything barring some leads youth towards the fools paradise. y only bollywood, hoolywood, tv serials, news channels ( the crime slot), discovery crime scene investigation they get new ideas..and if you see bollywood there is moral story to it..its upon you how you percieve it...so i dont think it affects the youth in anyways...
