This Monday ( 01/02/2010 ), the celebrity stars of Bollywood, Kajol and Sharukh jointly going to ( yes .. they have performed as was informed in advance ) ring the Opening Bell of the NASDAQ, the premier stock exchange in New York, USA.

When the USA economy is struggling to come out of recession, think this is some thing significant ? So far the CEOs of mega Cos. were doing this .. !! Now, for the first time Bollywood stars. Think .. USA .. calling India ? Or .. 'stars' are making some kind of Movie Ads. ? Such moves in a foreign country may fetch Box-offices in India ? Or .... NASDAQ is gaining from this ?

My question is : Who gains ?

Thanks for initiating such a wonderful debate Mr.Kusari.

In my opinion the US is trying to create more relatioships with India. The duo, SRK and Kajol are in New York to promote their latest film My Name is Khan and were invited to by Fox Searchlight Pictures, who are distributing the film in the US, to open trading at the world's biggest stock exchange. So I believe that both the stars and the distributing company is gaining from this.

Really, I wanted to know. May be they are promoting their new movies in USA and  this is another campaign .. from a foreign land !! A few years back .. USA, UK denoted some extra credence .. glamour and standarisation .. but now this is the turn of Asia, or ... say India counts .. !! USA calling India .. that may be the real reason. May U  tell us?

SRK always experiment something new with his movies in promoting his movie, My Name is Khan he has firstly shown a premiere at night 10.00 pm on star network and then in january formally came out with new marketing techniques, which before this no one has thought or done it. So ringing the Nasdaq opening bell is nothing but a publicity stunt and an action to prove its edge over the other stars. Amitabh Bachhan biggest star of India or stars in decades also have never performed this publicity or advertising schemes. So this very rediculous that to promote a movie stars are being taken at stock exchanges where there is no need of such activities as no movie releases controls or influence the market.
