In times of uncertainty and change, there are those that believe that we should put our heads in the sand and wait it out.  Others believe that as in surfing white water, you should constantly be looking toward the future, while navigating hidden boulders.  I believe that we should take a living systems approach to change.  The trunk/core of the person or organization and its mission must stay firmly rooted, while pruning towards the future.  Rather then just cutting off the deadwood in times of change, humans and organizations must prune like you tend to a bonsai- being true to the core, help the branches to grow/walk into the preferred future.  This may mean loss today, but huge rewards in the future.

Change is something which is unavoidable due to many circumstances and at times the core mission and the goal which would have been set up at the beginning will start to take new shape and new direction, though there will be some hidden boulders in days ahead to come it will be rather difficult to predict what will be the impact of it, so to negate that kind of impact why not play safe from now on and reap benefits now and also in future with correct measures in place.  There are many instances where change doesn't work out untill you tweak your core mission according to the change that will be happening.

No one really believes that every major system change can be managed by waiting it out.   No is it enough to be looking toward the future and moving all of your effort in that direction while watching out for hidden boulders, you have to manage today while preparing for the future.  I really believe that you have to stay rooted to your core mission, truth and purpose, while pruning towards the future.

I don't know if I can parse the impact of work vs. life or visa versa. They are totally interconnected- I agree. I think that is the beauty of humanness. We are the sum total of our multi-facetted lives, times X- we are so much more. Part of being an...
